New to AP woes... PR issue
Any fellow forumer currently wearing the AP safari range has issues with the PR?I got it new and after wearing the full day from 10am-11pm.. The PR seems like not really working that strong as specs. Didn't wind it thou.Day 2 : Called up APSC, Was advise to wind 50x before wearing and that should support the PR for 50hrs (+-) then when wearing movement of wrist should power the watch as well.Did exactly told, PR still is like few hours, took off watch ytd at around 8pm. Watch stopped at 6am.. Day 3 : did a manual wind of 55 turns. Timed the PR. Wind at 3.20pm watch stopped at 4.10pm.Moment of truth, will servicing resolve this and will it happen again
Quartz vs. Automatic Omegas?
Hey there,I know this is a Rolex forum, but I happen to own more Omegas (2000's+) than Rolexes/Tudors at the moment... 5 Quartz, 1 Auto. What's with all the hate (or dislike, I should say) on quartz Omegas? I actually find them more convenient because you don't have to put them in a watch winder or wear them everyday.Speaking of which, how well do Quartz Omegas hold their value against Autos? I'm in the market for a new modern Seamaster but can't decide if the extra $$$ is worth it...Thanks in advance!
Omega Central Tourbillon
This model was introduced in 1994 and is still sold as a limited edition. Does anyone here own one? If so, how has your ownership experience been?I like the look of the watch and the unique design. But, at close to $100k, it is very expensive. Would a Breguet tourbillon make more sense and be more likely to hold its value?
Thoughts on Patek 5124G
Hello all,I am considering purchasing a 5124G preowned. I have not seen the watch in person nor tried it on. I have watched a youtube video and it looks really nice. I love the deep blue dial. I have owned a JLC reverso before so the shape is fine for me. It looks like the watch really sits on the wrist nicely. I currently own a PP 5110J world time and the 5146R annual calendar. What do you guys think about adding the 5124 to my collection? I don't have a white gold piece or a blue dial piece so I think it would add some nice variety to my collection.Does anyone have any experience with this piece? Do you think the white gold and blue face is a fad or will it be able to stand the test of time? Thanks very much. You have a great forum here. The collective knowledge on this forum staggering. PS I would add pics but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
Rebel without a cause - 6000r
Hi all ,Picked up my first PP late last October for a milestone birthday, but haven't got around to posting pics till now. I know this guy isn't a forum favourite but it ticks a lot of my boxes - rose gold, micro-rotor, date function, interesting dial, deployment clasp with the Calatrava cross etc. I feel very blessed to be able to acquire this watch at my age. Its a shame that most people in my generation are more interested in acquiring an Apple watch then a mechanical one. But, hey different folks, different strokes.Anyway, here's to many more to come PS. Please excuse the casual attire paired with the watch I know it looks a bit out of place, but will be wearing this one with a suit/ formal attire. Cheers
