Herman Miller Ergonomic Chairs Prove Top Choice For Discerning Watch Makers
One place that you don't want to skimp on is your desk chair, especially when your job requires lots of sitting. One such job is watch maker. Many watch makers sit of uncomfortable benches. Why? Well, because they don't think too much about it. For generations watch maker desks have more or less stayed the same, but the advent of the ergonomic desk chair is relatively new in comparison. So you have a degree of that is how it is done mentality. It doesn't need to be that way, and it is not always that way. At Seiko's high end watch movement manufacture location in Japan, the watch makers are blessed with comfortable Herman Miller ergonomic chairs. This was a deliberate decision at the company, because it was clear that workers need to be happy and healthy. Seiko admitted that while outfitting the work benches with the chairs was more expensive, it proved to be worth it. I didn't see anyone complain. So happy! Perfect partner for my black DaytonaC!
Better Duo
I'm polling the group and asking you all to make a decision within a vacuum...meaning not to take into consideration any other potential watches in a collection. Simply, if you had to narrow it down to two, which would be a better and more versatile duo?Option 1: AP 15400 (black dial) and SubC 114060Option 2: AP 15400 (black dial) and AP Diver 15710ST (black dial)Option 3: AP Diver 15710ST (black dial) and SubC 114060
AP RO first then PP 5617 or PP first or just PP?
Hi,**it's 5167 of course, sorry**I understand that I'm asking this in a PP forum, but try your best to be unbiased! My first inclination was to get a AP RO first for my daily wear to rotate with my Cartier Santos, I alse have a Rolex DateJust which I dont wear very often..and I have just purchased a JLC Reverso for evenings/weekends which i absolutely love. I have yesterday parted ways with my Panerai PAM104 to recoup my credit card balance sheet. I really want to own a piece of AP RO as well because I love iconic watches and there the RO is definitely in this genre. On the other hand, as I see more Aquanauts, I love it more and more and I do not have a rubber bracelets which will come in handy when I travel a lot for work in South East Asia..such as Bangkok, Singapore, Malaysia etc.. I also like how versatile it looks and of course I always wanted to own a PP!Advise please thank you!
Date wheel change - naive (?) from newbie.
Newbie...bear with me. From what I understand, there is typically a 5 min. leeway on either side of Midnight for the date wheel to change. It may also depend on the attachment of the hands when assembled. Is this correct?Typically, my DJ41 has always made the switch when the 2nd hand hits the 12 hr. marker (when I've been awake to notice...Lol). Last night it changed 20 sec. earlier; hence, the date changed 12:03:40. Not concerned, but am wondering why the change up all of a sudden. Enlighten my curiosity please. Thanks in advance!
