This year at Baselworld 2016, Squale is introducing a pair of updated classic divers. Squale has a rich history of dive watches, and their vintage divers have become legendary amongst collectors. They are one of many brands who have capitalized on the popularity of their past by creating modern watches that borrow from their vintage classics.The first new watch for them this year is the Squalematic 60 ATM. This is a brand new model for them, but it is inspired by the glorious vintage Squale Masters of the past. The Squalematic will have the same familiar “von Buren” case style that they also used on their very popular 1521 models, but now in an updated 44mm diameter. Big watches are still in, and the new Squale is a nice addition to that market, without being gigantic. Has anyone purchased one of these pieces? At the time of release I am pretty certain it was listed as a boutique only available watch. Now reading the AP website it is listed as a novelty meaning it will also be available to AP AD dealers. Is this change due to poor sales. I have not seen many on the grey market. The price at 42K is quite a premium to pay for the metal. I like the color scheme but at the time of release I had concerns about the price and how well this model would sell.

My new to me 372
I was actually in the hunt for the 352 but this beauty popped up with b&p at an irresistible price and i snagged it.Its got a couple of scratches but for a vintage homage i think it suits beautifully. The movement as checked by my watchmaker's timeographer is running at +2 secs a dayCheers
