Stallone Wears Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec Watch
Here is some shameless "Stallonage." Sly dons a Carl F. Bucherer Patravi TravelTec GMT watch during the European premier of the Expendables II movie (in Germany I think). I must admit that I am really looking forward to seeing the film - especially because Arnold will be more prominently featured in it. Hopefully he will get some battle damage to show his metallic?Schwarzenegger innards.Sylvester hasn't had the easiest last few months as his son Sage Stallone died of what I believe was a drug overdose in LA. That's got to be rough as I understand Stallone was a good dad to a kid that couldn't quite standup on his own two feet. It can't be easy living in Rambo Balboa's shadow.Stallone is well-known for being a serious collector of things from watches to belt buckles. He loves his gadgets and as an icon has helped make a lot of watches popular. Most notable of course was his role in getting Panerai watches popular among his peers in Hollywood. He was also one of the leaders in the "large
Introducing: The New Roger Dubuis Velvet Collection For Pre-SIHH 2016
?SIHH is barely a month away, and the exhibiting maisons are starting to release some of their highly anticipated designs for 2016. According to many this is going to be THE year for women's watches and Roger Dubuis is clearly on board with that trend. Let's see what they've shared with us, with SIHH just around the corner. ADVERTISEMENT Roger Dubuis' collection designed exclusively for women clients is known as Velvet, and for this year's SIHH, they will be adding two watches to the existing lineup (that we know of so far, I should add). These are the Blossom Velvet Pink and Velvet Secret Heart. Additionally, there will be a new men's watch, The Excalibur Skeleton Automatic. 1 OF 3 The Blossom Velvet Pink (which will also be released in Blue) features a mother-of-pearl dial with assorted pink grand feu enamel floral motifs. The basic case design is essentially identical to other Velvet cases and is set with diam
Platinum offshore 26470PT
Got chance to check out the smokey grey dial beauty last weekend. The first Offshore chrono entirely crafted in platinum. The weight of this beauty really did take me by surprise Produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces worldwide with none of them being numbered. Out of my budget but if I had 115k burning a hole in my pocket
The Ginza...a Month and a half into ownership
I always enjoy reading posts from people who have owned their watch for some duration of time after ownership. It doesn't necessarily have to be an in-depth review, but just some words to describe what owning the watch for a period of time has been like. We all have preconceived notions before purchasing a watch. We all have certain expectations. Most often I feel (on this certain subsection anyway) people are truly satisfied with their purchase. There are also the few unfortunate cases where people are unsatisfied or decided to sell their watch. Below is my account of having the privilege of being one of the few owners of the Ginza edition. I've had the watch for almost a month and a half now. It's nothing too in depth, but just my experience and the things that I love about it. (yes, this is a positive review). In my first post about this watch, I shared the story of how I acquired it. In short, I first heard of the watch while reading a magazine in Japan a while back, then researchi
Thoughts on the 5930G?
I dig it. Though I'm not sure of the usefulness of the chronograph (30 mins max), and the lack of stop-seconds irks me since I can't set it perfectly.Otherwise, I consider it an absolutely stunning piece. Some truly lovely real-world shots here: https://.hodinkee/articles/th...me-chronographWould you buy it? Or is there another complicated chrono you'd choose over it?Thanks!
