Tissot Chemin Des Tourelles Squelette Watch
As a brand, Tissot really seems to be on quite a tear as of late. They have had quite a few notable new releases over the last few months, and now we are getting word of a sort of second wave. Most of them seem like reasonable additions to the lineup, but there is one in particular that caught our attention: the Tissot Chemin Des Tourelles Squelette. As you can quite readily tell from the photos here, this is a skeleton watch (and that's what squelette translates to from French C skeleton). I've been spending more time looking at and thinking about skeleton watches in the last year or so, and I have come to the conclusion that they are particularly hard to do. There are some brands that have it absolutely nailed down on the higher end of the luxury spectrum; when you start coming down closer to the realm of the "affordable" watches, things become hit-and-miss.The single biggest problem that faces a skeleton watch is readability. Did this happen to you?
I was starring at my watch collection one day that included patek, AP, breguet and rolex and realized that patek is by far the most amazing watch and brand. I then decided to sell and trade all of my collection for pateks. That was two years ago for me. I know realize that it is the only brand I am interested in. The more I learn about the brand and history the more impressed I am. I realize now that I am no longer a watch enthusiast but a patek enthusiast. Every now and then I am tempted by another brand, but I realize I am just wasting my time because as soon as I buy anything else I will end up trading it for a patek. I don't even buy watch magazines anymore or visit non-patek watch stores.I now understand this statement for myself There are only two types of watches, patek and everything elseHas this happened to anyone else?
Anyone receiving James Cameron deep sea?
So with the new year we've seen lots of LVCs, BLNR, skydwellers, Daytona's and SD43 but I haven't seen any JC incomings!!Am I missing something? Is it really that hated? Or is it true it's being discontinued?I love that watch way more than the SD43 and have been trying to get my hands on one after I passed on one a couple of months ago
