Vacheron Constantin Offers New 1972 Prestige for Opening of Paris Boutique
On June 23, 1972, at Paris’s Ritz Hotel, the Comit de France awarded the rare and coveted Prestige de la France award to Swiss watch manufacture Vacheron Constantin. As the first Swiss watch brand to receive this distinction, Vacheron launched a distinctive, asymmetrical timepiece, now referred to as the 1972. Now, to celebrate the opening of its Paris boutique (located at 2 Rue de la Paix, not far from the Ritz), the brand releases a new version of that famous wristwatch. Like the original 1972 model, the new 1972 Prestige has an asymmetrical case, here made of polished white gold, that follows the proportions of the golden section. (For example, the dimension of the longest side of the case, divided by the length of the sapphire crystal on the opposite side, equals 1.618, the same proportion that appears in some of the world’s greatest architectural icons, such as the Greek Parthenon and Le Corbusier’s Modulor.) Also like the original, it contains an ultra-thin mec

After much deliberation, I pulled the trigger on the 44mm AP ROO Ti. It's big and bold as I anticipated but surprisingly comfortable and light on the wrist. Thanks to the all the members who gave me great advice and support. A mandatory wrist shot and a few side by side photos for reference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Transfer of watch ownership
Hi guys, I bought a preowned AP ROO from a grey dealer and the watch was registered by the previous owner. May I know if I am able to register the watch and get AP to update my name as a new owner.Thank you for all your inputs.
AP AD Thoughts - Manfredi
Hi all, was wondering if anyone in the New York or CT area has dealt with Manfredi in Greenwich, and can speak about the experience. I have spoken to them on the phone and dropped in the store a few times, but never have been seriously looking, just browsing. They have always been very nice and knowledgeable, much more so than most ADs, and never pushy. Whenever I buy it is basically down to them versus the boutique, unless someone has another AD in that area that deals APs who they have had a favorable experience with. Any thoughts on Manfredi, and buying from them, where there would most likely be some sort of discount, versus the boutique where no price accommodations can be made, but they do come with a 5 year warranty versus the standard 3 year.
too good to pass up?
So, I am killing time in Shreve today waiting for a watch to be pressure tested a few stores over...I'm wearing my 372 and I ask to try on a couple of watches including a PAM 25...the salesman (also sporting a 25) says, hold on, I've got a great deal for you. Knowing Shreve doesn't negotiate I have my doubts...but he walks back with a brand new (though M series) 305 and says that they are offering the watch at 30% off. I was flabbergasted...what do you think? Buy it?
