Watches NEWS
Awesome AP duo!
Sometimes no words are needed.
Opinions and advice needed please
Those of you that have been kind enough to read my recent threads will know that I am in the process of reducing my collection of Rolex from 6 to 2 or 3....the idea being to use the proceeds (give or take) to enter the world of AP and PP.My purchasing has been speeded-up by the recent actions of the Swiss National Bank and the impending/already happening price increases.....and I am delighted to say that I have an AP 15400 arriving in the next few days (can't wait!)I am on the waiting list for a PP 5167 at the Patek salon in Geneva, which should arrive around April/May. However....Whenever I look at wrist shots of the 5167 I love it, and many TRFers over on the Patek forum write how wonderful it is. The few times I have tried it on in Geneva I have not been quite so sure. I have found it to be very light in weight and barely large enough for my tastes. I am also unsure about the numerals. I only wear sports watches (ie. dress watches are not an option) and the Nautilus simply doesn't d
Panerai Pam 111
I have recently bought this watch and cannot help but notice the letting for the word 'Panerai' looks strange, specifically the A and I spacing looks larger than it perhaps should be. I have read online this could be a tell tale sign of a fake! This watch has come with its box and all paperwork, including service papers. Perhaps I am being overly sceptical.Opinions would be appreciated...
Oil or water under crystal?
Howdy all! I got my first Rolex - Sub Date - from my wife as a wedding present. Absolutely love it and I wear it anytime I'm not sleeping! On our honeymoon, in the plenty of light that is French Polynesia, I noticed some markings on/under the crystal. I filled the sink with soapy water, took my toothbrush, and scrubbed away. Wouldn't come off. So, it would seem they're under the crystal. To my eyes, and it's admittedly a bit hard to tell in the attached picture, they look to be a light brown color which leads me to wonder if they're lubricant reside spots. I've kept the crown screwed down the entire time I've had it so it's not water damage. What do y'all think? I'll be taking it in to the dealer this coming weekend to potentially send back to Rolex.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
4weeks 4rolex!
Hi TRF, I realize when I'm active on the forum, I start buying. In the pass 4 weeks or so, I have purchased 4 Rolex's. You may have seen my post before or the purchase of the 116509 steel dial Daytona, followed by the Batman. This week Monday i pick up my first vintage Rolex, a Sub circa 1985. Thou I am not a vintage smart but I met Fred RED1108NYC , whom share a lot of his knowledge with me in the purchase. Over all I'm happy to with my purchase and since I'm just starting into vintage I'm only buy 1985, starting off with my birth year. Yesterday a second vintage arrived, watch was serial dates to 1984, but the original purchase receipt was 10/10/1985, thou its not my birthday but it's close. I decided to make the move to purchase it from John SPRINGER . Yesterday was busy, just had the chance to try the watch and whoa for a 32 year old watch I can't believe the condition it was kept in. Very pleased. Again very please with my purchase from both TRF members, it is my first time buyi
