Hands-On: With The New A. Lange & S?hne 1815, Downsized To 38.5mm For 2014
Much of the attention given to A. Lange & S?hne focuses on its more complicated watches, like the Pour le Mrite Tourbillon, the Zeitwerk, and even the Grand Complication, but Lange knows how to do simplicity too. At SIHH 2014, Lange released an updated version of the classic time-only 1815 in a smaller 38.5mm case, available in yellow, pink, and white gold. The new 1815 retains many of the design features of its predecessor and will be produced alongside the old 1815 instead of replacing it. Here's a hands-on look at this more classically-sized version of the 1815. 2 OF 6 Last year A. Lange & S?hne updated the 1815 Up/Down, but this release differs in two major ways: 1) The 2013 1815 Up/Down was 3mm larger than its predecessors, jumping from 36mm to 39mm and 2) The new 39mm 1815 Up/Down replaced the 36mm version of the watch. Hi allThis is my wifes Tissot with my Speedy.I wanted to get her a Rolex, she said it was to expensive, then I said what about an Omega, after trying a few on, said she didn't like them very much, then she saw this at the same AD and really liked it. As long as she is happy and I saved a few bucks. So we are all happy.Simon
Finally the 5167a is mine
Yesterday I became the proud owner of this wonderful watch. I have owned Rolexes over the years and currently have the SD4k and SS Daytona. Both great pieces, but I always found myself looking at the Patek forum and pictures/threads of the 5167a and 5711 in particular and I have always been drawn to the Aquanaut- preferring it due to its tropical strap and more understated, casual/sporty look. I tried one on a year ago at a Patek event and loved it, but didn't get one at that stage as I was concerned about the 'durability' in terms of scratches etc that I thought might be an issue for me as I like my watches as mint as possible (bit OCD). However I have never been able to get the 5167 out of my mind and more recently been feeling the SD and Daytona a bit on the flash side (I went into a shop the other day and the young salesman called out - is that a Rolex your wearing Sir?). Having been to London recently and seeing so many Rolexes, I found myself more attracted to the understated, un

Apologies if this should be posted on the vintage forum but I was wondering a few things about the 4 digit and 5 digit pepsi. What parts, case or bracelet, are made of 904L Steel? What are the overall quality of the clasps?
