Six Watches I Want Them To Make Again
Tiffany & Co. Streamerica Watch. Credit: WatchUSeek member slin-nycIf there has been one major theme to recognize over the last five or so years in the watch industry it is the rise of the retro-revival watch. What does that mean? It means that a love of "vintage" and celebrating tradition has swept over the entire industry. It means that to a large degree the watch design of today is influenced by the watch design of yesterday, and it also means that popular brands are releasing modern versions (exact or updates) of classic models. This latter practice isn't new and from the early 1990s you saw brands "re-releasing" classic models often with modern cases and movements. This continues today and each year many timepieces of the past in some form or another make a return. If you've been following watches for any length of time none of this should be news to you. What to do with a white Speedy dial?
So, after searching high and low, east to west, I was able to get my hands on the white Speedy dial seen below. I'm ordering the black hands from Ofrei. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1360717783.492028.jpgSo, I know this forum has a strong passion for the original Speedy Pro--but I'm hoping to get some opinions on what I should do. Please reply with an open mind. Here are a few thoughts:* Mod it into my current sapphire sandwich?* Sell the sapphire and locate a low cost head only Speedy Pro and mod it in that? (Thus not modding a higher end model.)* Any other ideas? I wouldn't keep two Speedys (one of each dial)-- so that isn't an option financially. Thanks for your thoughts.
Bought my first Patek!
Very happy to have just bought my first patek a beautiful 5726/1A. I figured you guys would like to see a few pics! This bracelet really rivals my APs it's just so comfy and light on the wrist. I included some pics with some other pieces in my collection for comparison. I have a feeling this one is gonna give my 116520 with factory metoriate dial (as you can tell I like lighter watches) a run for my daily wearer. Have a good weekend everyone!Follow me on Instagram watches561 for more pics! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
