APSC for water testing / 3rd year warranty
Morning, I am planning on sending my new to me, pre-loved Diver into Clearwater in the next month or two to have the watch water tested, thus adding an additional year to my warranty. My question is should I have a light polish done at this time. Watch is basicly mint, have to really study it to see any signs of wear. If a light polish is recommended, any idea of cost. Thank you all in advance.
GSOTM in the flesh!
Well colour me surprised! Walking past an omega boutique I look in the window and staring back at me is a grey side of the moon! I didn't think they were available until next year but lo and behold there it was. As a DSOTM owner of course I had to go in and try it on. It is much more silvery and shiny than the pictures give away, very metallic looking. It's very pretty and the leather strap works extremely well with the watch. In fact I am hoping they release a black croc for the DSOTM. It took all my will power not to buy it there and then. I think two of the same model is excessive for me!Now do I prefer the GSOTM to the DSOTM?? Not sure is my answer right now. I think you cannot go wrong with either. Please enjoy some of the pictures! Explorer on brown leather strap: doesnt work for me!
My wife wears the Explorer in rotation with her white 116520. Thought I change it up a bit and try for the first time a leather strap for her to match the brown purse etc. just change it up a bit. Ordered this Hirsch strap from Amazon and put it on today. She didn't like it, and frankly neither did I. The color didn't match any of her stuff either. The strap also was a bit thick around the spring bar, and it rubbed against the sharp edge of the watch as it rotated around the spring bar so not sure if I can return it now. You can see the scraped discolored part at 6 and 12 position. Oh well. Thought I share these pics anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Finally Joined the GMT Club...
As the title states, I finally took the plunge and joined the GMT Master Club... Yeap, after a three week wait, and an outstanding salesman at the local AD, I am the happy and proud owner of a BLNR.Initially, I was almost convinced that I wanted either a DJ II or the newer DJ 41. Visited an AD in Germany to try one on and found the DJ 41 to be a beautiful piece but a bit too small for my liking. I then joined this forum and started lurking around and learning every bit I could about the Rolex brand and its different model variations. This is when the GMT truly caught my attention.About three weeks ago, I went out to take my parents around, whom were vacationing in the area. I decided to go into the Rolex website to see if there was an AD nearby. To my surprise there was one very close by. As I walked towards the AD, I came across another high-end/luxury watch store which is not an AD. Right there on the window they had a brand new BLNR. Went in to try it on but they wanted €1,200
