A Life Question to the Patek Philippe Owner's of the World
I often gaze upon this discussion board with extreme longing in my heart and promise in my eyes. I like most watch lovers view Patek Philippe as the pinnacle of the watch world and ask myself what I must do in life to attain a financial position to achieve my ownership goal. I often catch myself in the, want it now category, with dreams of winning the lottery and becoming rich over night. This is funny because I have never played the lottery and hate gambling. I know in my heart this is the wrong mentality. I often say, Anything truly worth having in life takes hard work, determination, and perseverance. If it didn't everyone would have it. My question to this board of truly successful people would be, after all your life experiences, whats the one piece of advice you would give someone that truly wants to achieve greatness in life?To proved you with some context about myself, I am a recent MBA graduate working at an entry level position in the largest financial management firm in the
new to panerai questions
Panerai is a brand I have never considered before but after seeing them in the flesh and trying one on I was impressed at how solid they feel and the industrial but still well finished look about them, both characteristics which are shared by my ROO.. actually it felt rather similar to the ROO in terms of solidness and weight distributionjust wondering if Panerais are considered beater watches (can they be treated like a Rolex?) or if they need taking care ofalso would you recommend looking at new or used and anything else you think someone new to the brand should knowthanks
Rolex as Investments?
Just wondering if a seperate 'Topic Box' is required, solelyfor the discussion of Rolexes as commodities for investment? The subject, whilst mildly interesting, seems to be causing a little, perhaps, unnecessary friction.Perhaps we could let those that want to, sit in a seperate room and count their gold.

Oyster Bracelet "stretch" - 5 digit vs 6 digit
There have been several threads which reference whether bracelet stretch will be any less on solid link oysters than hollow link oysters.Does anyone have a 2007 6 digit SS GMT (the first year they were made) and a 2007 5 digit SS Sub that were both worn a lot and which would provide a fair comparison on hollow vs solid.Or if someone can post pictures of a solid link 2007 SS GMT showing any bracelet stretch, I'm sure someone else can post pictures of a hollow link 2007ish SS Sub.
