Mhle-Glashtte R. Mhle & Sohn Watches Celebrate The 20th Anniversary Of The Brand's Revival
It is not uncommon for us these days to read of a brand celebrating its history, be it 10 years or 100. Oftentimes, that takes the form of a new watch being released that draws inspiration from (or is perhaps just a re-release of) something from back in the archives. On the other hand, brands can go a different direction, as we see with the Mhle-Glashtte R. Mhle & Sohn line-up.Now, if you are familiar with the brand, you might know that 2014 marks the 20-year anniversary of the brand being revived by Hans-Jrgen Mhle. Interestingly enough, it is also 145-year anniversary of when the brand was first founded by Robert Mhle. With this unique double-anniversary in the making, Mhle-Glashtte wanted to do something special.Rather than just diving into their archives and reproducing something, they created with the R. Mhle & Sohn a new line that features some interesting movements. For the initial lineup, there are three watches - the Mhle-Glashtte Robert Mhle Auf/Ab (20 pie
Brand new vs preowned..... Help
Hi guys,I have an opportunity to buy, from a trusted seller, a 44mm AP ROO stainless/ceramic. He has a BNIB open warranty card vs 1 year old LNIB with 2 years left on warranty. Both are spotless with all box/papers etc. There's a 2k difference between the 2.Any advise would be appreciated. If I decide to go preowned what questions should I ask? Thanks
Authenticating a Breitling
I have spent a few hours searching this and am still confused so any help gratefully accepted. I have been offered a Breitling Chronospace, 1996 model, SERIAL#A56012.1 10185.The watch is 18 years old and shows age reflective of this. The seller states the following:Movement replaced in 2009 (Aerospace movement) & New Crystal and HandsService & Cleaning in late 2012Neoprene Travel Case (Gen) & Polishing ClothChronospace ManualAftermarket strap & BraceletHe has no proof or papers of this so cannot authenticate. Is there any way of checking authenticity as the seller is not in the same country as me and I cannot view it apart from the pictures he has sent. Its a good price (looking at similar on ebay etc). What would experts value this watch at?I know its difficult without seeing it but a ball park figure would be a good starting point for me. Thank you.
Help A NATO Noob (DSOTM & Omega NATO)
I have experience changing straps, but have never dealt with NATOs.I have a DSOTM Speedmaster, and while visiting the Omega boutique in Rome, I impulse purchased an Omega NATO.I have done some searches on various forums, and I saw some discussions about the possibility of needing different, curved spring bars than currently installed on the watch. Is that true?I don't want to risk this ceramic watch falling to the ground and breaking. Any other tips or issues to keep in mind?
I would buy this in a hearbeat
Personally, I don't condone Frankenwatches, but this .flickr/photos/shaneli...7624117378632/ mod has me salivating. If OMEGA made this, there is virtually no price that I wouldn't pay for one.
