Can someone tell me more about this vintage Chronomat Ref 818?
Hello Breitling Forum members...I typically lurk on the Rolex Forums but I need some help please regarding my recent acquisition of this vintage Breitling Chronomat reference 818. My internet research indicates it is from about 1971 and houses a Valjoux 7733 manual winding movement. The watch is keeping very good time and the Chrono functions seem to work quite well. I know it's called a Big Case (48mm) and for good reason. Can anyone advise me on anything else I should know about this very nice vintage Breitling Chronomat? I am not sure if I want to flip it for something else or get the crystal buffed or replaced and enjoy it...it's kind of big even by today's standards. Any value estimations would also be much appreciated. Thanks much...Frank
Buy another PP reference that you own, just to have your name on the papers?
Would you go through this hassle personally?Owning a 5167 that I wear and enjoy, and have had for a few months. It was Double sealed when I bought it, however did not have my name on the papers as I bought it from a trusted seller. I did get a better than retail price for it, and really wanted the watch.I have the option of obtaining a BNIB from a retailer, which I could have my name on.Would you go through this hassle?I would lose money of course, as my Patek won't sell for the same price I will buy the brand new one for. I will also have to find a buyer, ship it, etc. Never sold a watch on TRF, so I guess my best bet would be to sell to a trusted seller, meaning I would be offered quite a bit less than what they usually sell for.My 5167 is in flawless condition.I never ever even look at the paper work or boxes of any of my owned watches, but wondering if it is worth the hassle.Part of me says I doubt my kids would care if the papers has my name. I also am certain that I will have many
Obtained my grail!!!!....Warning, VERY PIC HEAVY!!!
Hi Guys, I've been hanging around the Patek Forum for quite some time and after seeing so many pics from Puffy, GeorgeAb, etc...I started to develop the notion that I may be able to swing a 5167A.So after months of looking, the always reliable, and my main-man, DavidSW came up big!Since pics are always worth a thousand words, I thought I'd take you guys all the way from the unboxing to the band sizing/adjustment:Here we go!!!! 1.) Arrival from DavidSW (it was 1130 at night and I'd just come back from Ireland but hardly could contain my excitement)5167 pic 1.jpg2.) Always wrapped like a fitted glove by DavidSW5167 pic 2.jpg5167 pic 3.jpg3.) The Patek box is extremely classy, excellent details.....you just know that these pieces are NOT mass produced 5167 pic 4.jpg5167 pic 5.jpg4.) Close up shot in the Patek box:5167 pic 6.jpg5.) A nice wrist shot WITHOUT the band sizing, you can see my left hand pulling the tropical band to approximate my size (yes I know I'm a RIGHTY wearer)5167
Datejust 41 discounts?
I am currently looking at a rolex DJ 41 in steel. I have never bought from this AD but will offer all cash. What percentage off of the $7350 retail price can I reasonably get? Thanks
