As afollow-up to my two posts about watches & 24 Hours of Le Mans I want to show you some pictures saying more than 1000 words Click on read more to see my report First of all congratulations to Porsche to win its 17th 24 Hours of Le Mans race. After a clear dominance of Audi during the last years Le Mans now has a new winner: Porsche Motorsport. After some years of abstinence Porsche came back to Le Mans last year but did not win the race. Audi did. Porsche came back again this year and at 15:00 CET won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.Once again: Congratulations! If you have been reading my two articles about 24 Hours of Le Mans and the active engagement of Swiss watch manufacturers with some leading teams you might have been following the race like I did the last 24 hours. Now, after the show is over, I want to show you some pictures that will impress you.I simply took some screenshots with my iPad during the last minutes of the race and then during the price giving ceremony. Dottling Colosimo Spike & Mies "Stylish" Watch Winders
We have now entered the world of designer watch winders. Did you ever think that your next watch winder would be inspired by a chair? Or perhaps high heels? Well these two are. German safe and watch winder maker Dottling has built a follow-up model to their famed Colosimo watch winder safe. I originally wrote about the Colosimo here. The new winder is still called the Colosimo, but is smaller than the original and now has room to wind three versus one watch. To begin, Dottling will offer two limited edition versions of the second generation Colosimo. These are Colosimo "The Spike" and Colosimo "The Mies." Aren't they stylish? The main idea of the Colosimo is to look like a small safe. It has a safe-style door that opens up to reveal the winding drum. The drum has been redone here to offer space for three watches. The second gen Colosimo dimensions are 21cm x 21cm x 20cm. It is almost a perfect square and about 7 centimeters smaller than the original. It also weighs a lot less. Dottling w
I did it... scratched my ROO 44 Bezel. Please help
Hi Forum,Was in a meeting the other day and was glancing at my AP. Thought I spotted a lunch time stain and tried to rub it off the bezel. However, the stain did not go away. On closer inspection, it looks like I have scratched my ceramic bezel. Does anyone know how to remove this? Im ok to live with it, if the only fix is to replace the bezel.Andrew
Problem with ROO 44mm novelty
So I noticed the crown was rough to turn during wind up after about 5 revolutions. The watch had sat for about a week and was this fully unwound. I stopped and hoped the watch would continue winding itself automatically on my wrist tonight, which It did. Just got home and decided to try again and found it was still rough. Not only that, but it won't change the date anymore. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Patek 5711/5712 blue dial
I have read a lot about these particular models, however have not seen one (yet) in the flesh.A question for those that own these models, is the blue dial really that captivating? from pictures that I have seen, the blue hue does seem to vary, depending on the lighting. Is it really that special? What Is the general consensus on the White dial 5711?Any thoughts?
