Bremont Lightweight E-Type Chronometer Watch In Collaboration With Jaguar Cars
Is the car industry borrowing a page from the high-end watch industry playbook? For 2014, Jaguar will be literally reproducing six "copies" of its iconic Lightweight E-Type race cars built in the mid 1960s. In essence, the plan is sort of romantic if it were not so darn expensive, and along for the ride is English watch maker Bremont with some limited edition watches. The first of the new Jaguar Lightweight E-Type cars will be debuted at the Pebble Beach 2014 Concours d Elegance auto show event. Each of the six cars is claimed to be priced at around $1,680,000.Between 1963 and 1964 Jaguar was supposed to build 18 of the "Lightweight" E-Type cars but it only ended up building 12 of them. In order to be lighter than the standard E-Types these special E-Type models were produced from aluminum and had a range of other minor techniques designed to save weight. All of this was for on-track racing performance. For 2014 Jaguar will complete the original 18 E-Types with six more cars that follo

Since I got back into the habit of reading about watches every day a couple months ago I had been seeing the 5712/1A coming up a lot. Many times it would show up in this-or-that type comparisons or polls. Last Wednesday I stumbled across this gem of a post:.watchprosite/page-wf....2513/s-0/pzt-/I had seen and handled this watch twice; once in the store, liked it, didn't buy it and then once at Patek. As I had been reading about it a lot lately, I was trying to figure out why I didn't buy it the first time I handled it. I couldn't remember the reason why.Originally I had plans to travel south and order a couple straps for my wife's new FP Journe however my wife had noticed I was looking at watches from other brands all morning so instead she suggested we go north to the city. To make sure I went she suggested we go to one of my favorite restaurants for brunch. When we first got into the AD I struck out on the main pieces I was hoping to see which were the Vacheron Quai De L'ile in s

Is this something normal for an AD to do?
So, couple of months ago I've put my name down for a BLNR at Melbourne Airport Rolex, today I've received a message saying that they've just got one in stock and asked whether I'm still interested. Although, there's a catch, that is I have to buy an additional watch in order for them to sell me the BLNR. I was never informed about this when I put my name down. So my question is, is this something normal for an AD to do? P/S. I understand that some ADs would only consider existing customers when it comes to the waiting list. But since they've got one in stock and actually messaged me, I just thought it's a little strange.
