Tourneau’s Howard Levitt to Step Down as CEO
Tourneau, LLC has announced that Howard R. Levitt has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer at the end of 2009. Mr. Levitt will continue to serve on the company's Board, and he will continue as CEO until a new leader is selected. The company's Board, with the participation of Mr. Levitt, will identify his successor in the coming months. Robert J. Wexler, Tourneau's Chairman of the Board, said, We would like to thank Howard for the significant contributions he has made to Tourneau over the last 18 years. He has been instrumental in the company's growth and we look forward to his continued participation on the Board. Howard Levitt said, I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of growing the company into a leader in fine watch retailing. We have a great team in place and the company is well positioned for the future. Established in 1900, Tourneau distributes and retails many leading brands, including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Omega, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Audemars Piguet,

Longines Timetravels at Baselworld 2016 to 1918 and the 60's
This year at Baselworld 2016, Longines issued a surprising pair of new releases, taking their already impressive Heritage line deep into the brand's rich past.Longines Heritage 1918First up is the Longines Heritage 1918. Drawing inspiration from the original Longines "Bracelet-Chronograph" of 1918, the Heritage 1918 is a handsome interpretation of early 20th century design. The case (available in both 41mm and diamond-studded 38mm women's versions) is a simple, circular piece with mirror polish, calling to mind a pocket watch case, with a prominent cushion crown at 3. The wire lugs are almost completely contained, connecting to the case at only one point and giving the watch an almost floating appearance on the wrist.Dial design is pure Art Nouveau-era ornateness, with brightly blued cathedral hands above a lacquer white dial with bold painted numerals. Both the handset and numerals are filled with a deep honey brown varnish, adding to the antique feel, and are framed by a railroad min
BASELWORLD 2011 - New Model - Patek Philippe 5208P - Minute Repeater 5208
(Press Release and Images by Patek Philippe SA)Patek Philippe Triple Complication Ref. 5208PSelf-winding Grand Complication wristwatch with minute repeater, monopusher chronograph, instantaneous perpetual calendar with apertures, and moon phaseThe new Patek Philippe Triple Complication Ref. 5208P is yet another accomplishment that underscores the leadership of the Geneva-based workshops in the complicated watch segment. With a minute repeater, monopusher chronograph, and instantaneous perpetual calendar, it presents the most challenging degrees of difficulty with peerless perfection. And it is not a one-of-a-kind timepiece: it is a new model in the regular Patek Philippe collection, offering definitive proof that the so-called "domain of the extraordinary" is part of the everyday reality at the privately owned manufacture. It is Patek Philippe's second Triple Complication within a short period of time. In 2008, the first was the Ref. 5207 with a minute repeater, instantaneous perpetual
My Big Fat Day-Date Dilemma
Hello, I'm new to the forums. I joined up because I need some advice. Here goes:I guess you could say I'm a long-time Rolex owner; I purchased a pre-owned Datejust in 2005, all stainless with a very unique bezel (don't even know the name, it looks old school) and a mother of pearl dial with diamond markers. This watch has served me well through thick and thin, and I always said that when I reached a certain point in my life, having achieved certain things, I would treat myself to a solid yellow gold Day-Date. I figure I'm there now, and this Day-Date purchase is now very much a reality. I am interested in the absolute standard all-gold presidential, no frills. It's the #228238. Tourneau prices it at $34,850 -- but I have two connections in Florida for $26,500 and $24,500. Same exact watch, but here's the catch: these are not authorized dealers. I've heard that people strongly dislike Tourneau and would sooner not buy a Rolex at all than buy one through them, but I do like th
