Romain Jerome and CEO Yvan Arpa Part Ways
Romain Jerome has announced that it has parted ways with CEO Yvan Arpa. Also leaving the company are the head of administration, the sales director and two other staff members. No reason was given for the departures. Romain Jerome’s press release states that “…the change of management in no way jeopardizes the ongoing success of the company, which continues to enjoy excellent sales, promising order volumes and an extremely strong brand image.” Romain Jerome was founded in 2004 and Yvan Arpa joined the firm in 2006. During his tenure, Arpa created a series of eyebrow-raising timepieces including one made from pieces of the Titanic, another priced at $300,000 that did not tell the time, and for 2009 one called “The Truth About Roswell” that incorporates moon dust into the dial (pictured below). The company assures us that deliveries of the Moon Dust-DNA collection will take place according to the planned schedule.

Leatherman Tread Watch With Tool Bracelet
The American company Leatherman - known for their very useful folding multi-tools - will soon release a tool-bracelet known as the Tread. The Leatherman Tread will have 11 interchangeable links that each have a few tools such as screwdriver heads of various styles and sizes. Leatherman will offer the Tread as just a bracelet or make it available with an optional watch case - making the Tread a full-fledged timepiece.According to Leatherman, the Leatherman Tread watch will have a total of 25 tools - and the integration of all the tools is rather clever, I must say. Each link, for example, has two tools on either side such as a screw head or a small cutting instrument. The center of the link might be used to unscrew various bolts. It appears as though most of the tools can be used without dissembling the Leatherman Tread merely by taking the bracelet off and folding the links to expose a tool.How comfortable the Leatherman Tread watch will be is another matter. What��s the point?
Of Rolex making all of these cool sport model watches and then if you have cash in hand you can't find one. I stopped by my local AD last week the guy who's real nice btw told me he only sees a few come in of each model yearly. Such as Batman, hulk, Daytona's, deepblues etc. Really what's the point just to keep prices high?Or something else?I'm not a watch expert and I only own one Rolex so maybe for me the answer is not so obvious.
