ROC dial question
I have my eye on a few AP's looking to make my first AP purchase. I like a lot of different designs and styles and am having a hard time picking. I like many of the ROC designs and I do prefer a larger size watch, more than 40mm and happy with 44.My question is about the placement of the dials and numbers on the chronograph models. At the risk of offending, and with my advance apologies, I just wonder why some manufacturers add large numbers to a dial and then chop them off with other features like sub dials or a day/date window. It somehow looks strange to me. Like why have the bottom part of an 8 on the dial when over half of it is obscured by a sub dial? Why not just omit that number or use some other type of index? Is there some history to this or other reason to justify something so odd? I love many of the color and design variants of the ROC but that one aspect just kills the look for me. Its too bad because otherwise they fit my criteria for size and design. I know in th
Cheers to Omega Customer Service.......
I own an Omega Seamaster Professional 300M, ref # 2254.50 that I have had for several years and purchased from its original owner to bought it from an Omega AD in 2003. The watch was serviced by the original owner in 2006 thru Omega AD ben Bridge and one in my possession it was serviced by Omega thru Omega AD Traditional jewelers. The watch has always run +1 sec a day while in my possession.I use the watch as a modern beater when I do not want to wear a vintage Rolex but still want a nice timepiece on my wrist.I listed the watch for sale here in TRF classifieds a couple weeks ago. After posting the listing I got the watch out, wound it and wore it for a day, intending to wear it for a couple days to confirm the accuracy or change my ad if accuracy had changed. Accuracy had not changed but there was something clearly loose and rattling inside the watch when it was shaken. Not able to sell the watch in that condition I took it back to Traditional Jewelers, explained my concern and asked t
Pp5960-01g-001
My AD received several new pieces and one that really caught my eye is the 5960/01G. The blue dial, red hand accents along with the brown strap gave it a very sharp but casual look (which I like and looking for). Why isn't though that there is not much love for the 5960 in general? Is it the production run time, combination with the AC complication, price point (I am not overly concerned about resale value) or other options that may be available with a chrono complication? I am seriously debating whether to look into this further and adding it to accompany my AP chronos or selling one/both and just have the PP as my chrono complication in my collection. Any insight would be appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
