Hands-On: The Tudor North Flag, With Tudor's Own In-House Movement
When HODINKEE got its first look at the North Flag in Baselworld last March, it was one of the biggest stories of the show – Tudor was launching not only a new model, but its own in-house movement, which were both major firsts. We’ve been able to spend a bit more time with the watch over the last week, and we’ve got a somewhat broader perspective now on exactly what this watch means to us, and what it might mean to you. 1 OF 9 The North Flag is the tip of the spear of an effort by Tudor, which has been unfolding for us since the brand’s re-entry into the U.S. market was announced in 2013, to come out from under the shadow of The Crown – an effort that has clearly paid off. It feels, however, like the company has been here longer than that – of course, Tudors were sold in the US market for decades, leading up to 1996 when it left, and the 2010 international launch of the Heritage Chronograph was the beginning of an absolutely massi

Follow up to 40th anniversary
Just got a call from AD they have a 40th anniversary 5711 in stock. Have these appreciated in value or was there not enough interest because of the tombstone dial?
ADs in Dubai these days - better selection that US?
I have a friend currently in Dubai who has offered to watch hunting for me if I want him to. Does anyone have a recent sense of which ADs have the best selections? I've been staggered by the choice (even though a bit pricier than the US) when I've been there previously but its been a couple of years so no idea what current landscape is like and if extreme shortages of SS daytonas, Hulks etc are the same as in the US. Thanks for any tips!
My fellow obsessives
Is the shade/color of the blue dial the same on the DJ 41 as the Day/Date white gold model? I believe the latter dial is a slightly brighter blue. Thoughts? Also, what are your opinions of the way the Roman numerals are laid out on the white gold Day/Date models? For example, instead of IV for the number 4, it reads llll. Why do you think they chose that layout? Aesthetics?
