Audemars Piguet 14790ST
I have been a keen admirer of Audemars Piguet watches since I was about 16. Ten years later Ive been offered a 14790ST for what seems like a decent price. One of my good friends is selling his for ?5500 having bought it a year ago for ?6100, box and papers included. Being a genuine friend he told me he went to a few jewellers and the most he was offered for it was around ?3000. Obviously I know how below the mark they will offer as they need to make money ontop. Also I know they cost a hell of a lot to get serviced. Im not knocking anyone who was, but I wasnt born into money and have made the odd bad investment in the past, so I cant afford to lose out too much. I like the watch and Ill hold onto it for years to come. In your opinion is this a good price and will I be disappointed when I decide to sell on further down the line. Thanks in advance.
Honest thoughts on the Emergency
I have ALWAYS like the Breitling Emergency. It's the aesthetics! Just something about its robust look. The only drawback to me is the fact that it is quartz. I wish there were some way that this timepiece could be what it is with an automatic movement. Still it is a really desirable watch to me.Did they ever make this watch in a mechanical movement? Seems like I remember seeing one, but not sure.
1954 Caliber 266 Movement Appox. Power Reserve?
Hey guys any help and comments would be greatly appreciated. My question is: Does anyone have a general idea of the power reserve on a full wind a 1954 Caliber 266 movement has? It has been serviced within the last year. I will enclose a picture of the movement also. Thanks again for your responses. Regards Jason. omega movement.jpg
First time trying on the 5711 blue. - background info + pics
Hey guys.So after a long hunt to try and find the 5711 in blue before deciding which watch is my next, I have definitely made up my mind.I have a habit and history of annoying AD's before pulling a trigger on a watch. I need to be 100% sure before pulling I do, and I think that is why I have never flipped a watch before. So the opponents were the 5167, and the 5711 white.I love the AP 15202, however just too big for my taste on my 6.25 wrists.I tried the 5167 on several occasions; and though I love the dial, the watch doesn't feel special to me. It didn't make my heart race. Then I tried the 5711 white. I absolutely loved it and was also being offered a very good deal on an 1 month old extremely mint one.I was really close to pulling the trigger, but I haden't tried the blue dial before, and that's why I was hesitant. I needed to know.Today, almost 2 months later, I finally was able to find a 5711 blue in the flesh, and though it is a close call with the white, this one is the winner for
I caved....
Was trying to hold out for my AD but David had this one available and couldn't contain myself. Had to go to Fedex myself as we have some snow here today and there was a delivery exception, trucks were delayed and I was having none of that.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
