Shinola Runwell Chronograph 41mm Watch
Shinola is very likely a brand that needs no introduction to readers of this site. They seem to be one of the few bright spots of good news hailing from my old stomping grounds of Detroit. They've released a variety of well-designed leather goods, bicycles, and three-hander watches. On the watch front, they're upping the ante by adding a new size to one of their more popular models, the Runwell Chronograph. It's not surprising to hear that the new model is simply called the Runwell Chrono 41mm. As with their other models, this is a quartz-driven piece. This model uses their Argonite 5021 movement, which is assembled from 84 components provided to them by Ronda. This movement is housed in a fully polished 41mm stainless steel case. The overall feel of this case is one of compactness. You don't have a lot of extra steel to the edges of the dial - just the bezel, and then its onto the side of the case. And, for this model, that's where things really shine. ?Prior to this model being introdu
Advice needed for an AP newcomer
Hi all! I am currently obsessed with the 15202, and think I may be taking the plunge soon. But before I do, I gotta do my due diligence. As someone who has bought and sold quite a few watches, I have come to understand that each brand has it's own unique set of questions to ask or issues to look for before purchase. For example, the misaligned 12 oclock markets on a PP 5711, or bezel alignment on a Sub/GMT. What are the quality control issues to look for when purchasing a new AP? Anything specific to the 15202?
Need a part for a 7806
I just bought a 7806 from 1972, with box and papers (sold in 1973).The watch came with an aftermarket crown, which I'd like to replace with a correct Breitling crown. My watchmaker ordered a crown, but the new crown didn't fit.Can anyone tell me of a source to buy a correct Breitling crown for the 7806 Navitimer? Thanks.
Patek First Timer
Question to those who eventually made their way to PP, I have been wanting to sell one of my Day Date for a 5205R-001; those who traded a watch for a Patek, did you find that it was worth it? I know Patek is the crown jewel of watches, but did you feel that taking a small hit on a trade plus spending extra $$$ was worth it?
Should I trade my PAM for a SubC?
I've been progressively moving up the food chain since getting bit by the watch bug and recently purchased a PAM 510 from my local AD. It was my first luxury piece and certainly the most expensive to-date. I've never owned a Rolex and at the time I picked up the PAM I was considering either it or the SubC date, ultimately going with the PAM as it had been a desire for a long while and at the time felt the look better fit my style (I've always considered myself more on the raw/edgy side as opposed to reserved/classy). Fast forward a few months and now the Sub is keeping me up at nightCsomething about it's timeless appeal. I also struggle with strap fit throughout the day and love the idea of the glide-lock clasp. Ugh. Im also romanticized by and very seriously considering going down the 1-watch road, mostly because I'm growing tired of the dissonance I feel when choosing which to wear each morning. Im not sure I could do it with the PAM as it lacks a date and isn't as versatile imo. I'm
