The January-February issue of WatchTime is on newsstands now (and on Nook, Kindle, and the WatchTime app for iOS and Android), featuring in-depth watch tests of the IWC Ingenieur Automatic AMG Black Series Ceramic, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe, and Ball Engineer Hydrocarbon NEDU, a reference guide to the watch industry’s quality marks, a gallery of blue-dial beauties, and more. In our cover story, “One for the Road,” Jens Koch tests the auto-racing influenced IWC Ingenieur AMG Black Series Ceramic in an altogether appropriate setting: inside the cockpit of a Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster. Nik Scholzel provides the original photography.? Mike Disher examines two other timepieces Blancpain’s new, vintage styled Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe in “In Depth,” and Ball’s “muscular tool watch,” the Engineer Hydrocarbon NEDU, in “Power Tool.” Robert Akinson provides the phot
Blancpain Dives to 500 Fathoms
On the eve of Baselworld 2009, Blancpain presents the big sister of its now famous Fifty Fathoms watch: the brand-new 500 Fathoms. More high-performance and high-tech than ever, the brand's latest diver's watch is water resistant to 1000 meters. The 48 mm brushed titanium case is equipped with a helium decompression valve. To enhance readability, Blancpain has designed large phosphorescent Arabic numerals that are hollowedinto the sunray-brushed metal appliques. The luminescent coating on the hour-markers, bezel markings and hands, along with the red tip of the sweep seconds hand, enhance readability in all circumstances. The luminescent base of the black dial reveals its fluorescence only in the dark, while the date appears in white against a black background at 4 o'clock. The unidirectional ratcheted bezel facilitates handling and avoids any involuntary extension of the dive time. Crafted in titanium and sapphire crystal, it features a gentle cambered relief that reduces the risk o
Vintage seamaster deville omegas?? Wrist shots please!
Hi everyone.Looking to add a vintage seamaster deville piece to my collection.Could anyone share some photos of wrist shots? Most of the vintage piece are sized around 34mm to 35mm. Do you find that too small? I typically wear 36 DJ and 40mm Daytona.I am afraid that it might look too small... but its so elegant!
Planet ocean with leather strap
Considering this watch, but can't decide whether with steel or orange leather? Have fairly tiny wrist, over 7 inch anyway. I haven't seen a single wrist-shot with leather, anyone post? Also opinions would be welcome, should one buy from some webshop or add quite a bunch of $$ and buy from authorized dealer?
Trilogy: Batman or Pepsi or something completely different
Hi guys, My first post here, I've been lurking on this forum since getting my first Rolex a few months back. In three months I've turned into a total watch fiend, I am genuinely suprised at how quickly this has progressed. I picked up a new Explorer 1 39mm and luckily enough also managed to get my hands on a Sub no date the month after. I love both and really think these are probably the two best looking and perfectly formed watches ever. But already I have a wandering eye and I'm looking at 1, possibly 2 more watches to complete the collection.I was initially thinking of the original Moonwatch but tbh the quality really seems lacking when I tried it on side by side with the sub and ex. I love the history but it's not doing it for me on the wrist - it feels a bit flimsy and cheap. I went through a Pelagos stage too, but in the end decided it was too similar to my sub. While I've also been admiring the new GMT Pepsi, I can't help but think it's going to light up like a disco ball on the w
