Watches NEWS
Hands-On: In The Master's Footsteps: The Breguet Reference 7337
Breguet has in recent years become increasingly active in telling its own story, and for watch enthusiasts, it’s a really unique story and one well worth knowing. Since the firm was founded by Abraham Breguet in the late 18th century, it’s had, to put it mildly, its ups and downs but it has also for many years produced some of the most beautifully designed watches anywhere in the horological world. Recent years have seen a great deal of attention paid to Breguet’s sports watches (including the rightly well-respected Type XXI) and its more overtly extroverted watches, such as the La Tradition family; and of course it’s been a period of almost unbelievably technical inventiveness everything from unusual chronograph coupling systems, to novel takes on the minute repeater, to an exploration of very fast-beat escapements and more, have all made Breguet more visible as an innovator than at any time in its history since Breguet himself was alive. 1 O
The Glashtte Original Senator Observer (Live Pics, Specs, Pricing)
Glashütte Original, like Zenith, may not win the praise of the most demanding collectors, but there is a quiet charm about them. Residing literally just next door to the other Glashütte-based high-end manufacture, GO goes about producing subtle and elegant wristwatches without much fuss or fanfare, but they are all excellently made, and all produced entirely in-house. Oh, and relative to their neighbors, they offer fantastic value. This new piece from GO is one of their strongest, most handsome offerings yet.? 1 OF 8 The clear winner of this year's introduction by Glashütte Original at Baselworld 2015 was the watch you see here – the Senator Observer, or GO's take on a deck watch. For the uninitiated, a deck watch was a hand-held pocket watch that navigators would use as backup to the ship's marine chronometer. Of course the chronometer was the standard by which all measurements were made, but a deck watch allowed all sailors to do their o
Seamaster conversion?
I have an omega seamaster Bond and would like to put a 2254 dial/hand and bezel on it. Cannot get the local Omega dealer to even entertain the idea. The actual watch has tremendous sentimental value - else I would have bought one (a 2254). Does anyone know of such dial/hands/bezel swaps being accomplished?thanks!steve
5522A is amazing!
I was finally able to see the 5522a (time only) at my Patek AD... WHAT A WATCH! I never really liked it until handling it in person! No, I wasn't able to add it to my collection, I was there to pick up the new JLC Master date (sector dial), so I just couldn't swing another purchase!Anyone able to grab one yet? I'd love to see some wristshots!
Need help on 14060
I am looking at a 14060. The seller says it is A series (no box, no paper). I will see it by myself next week. But from pictures sent by the seller, its serial no. is A35xxxx. There is the word swiss under the marker at 6 o clock of the dial.My questions are1. Is the dial match with the serial no?2. What else to look for to see whether it is fake or not?Thank you.
