Tudor Watches To Return To US Market In 2013
For the last 3-4 years, we've been speculating that Rolex (who owns Tudor) would be keen to return the Tudor sub-brand to the United States market where it has been absent for a long time. Rolex itself has dominated the US, likely fearing that the lower-priced Tudor brand would act as a competitor. With Rolex owning at least 25% of the luxury watch market, it was in their best interest to not fix what wasn't broken. However, over the last few years, Tudor watches have been increasingly different from those of Rolex. While Tudor watches are produced alongside Rolex timepieces, they use ETA-sourced Swiss watch movements versus movements made in-house at Rolex. It appears as though the time has come where Rolex feels that Tudor can live with its higher-priced brethren in the important US market.A few months ago sources at Rolex seemed to unofficially suggest that Tudor was coming back. It seems logical that TAG Heuer is associated with Tesla Motors
It seems logical that TAG Heuer is associated with Tesla Motors - although I do not understand why I think that. Success of marketing on behalf of both sides I guess. Collaboration between the marks may continue for some time (probably not going to be like the Ferrari Panerai slandered and now extinct face)- but the first result of consumer is something that I have never seen before.
Black or white dial for RO 15300?
This watch has become a kind of grail for me. I have tried on the white dial and loved it, but have not seen the black dial in the flesh.Which is nicest?Pictures are welcome!
Service expectations on a 2010 vintage 5712
Looking at possibly purchasing a pre-owned, early 2010 vintage, 5712/1A from the original owner. Was worn in rotation for the first year or so and pretty much been sitting in a safe ever since.Should I expect this watch will need servicing soon? If so, what would you estimate cost and the time it will be off my wrist to be?Thanks, guys.
Datejust 36mm blue dial question
I am planning to maybe add a 36mm DJ, white gold bezel, jubilee to my collection and this time with a blue dial. I have seen pictures of this watch with different types of blue dials - some seem to have a sunburst efect dial and some seem to be plain blue, without the sunburst efect. Is this the case, or are all the blue dials the same? Thanks in advance for help! :)
