The watch's design can also be traced to the 1940s. The model name refers to the famous 1,000-mile vintage-car race across Italy that was held between 1927 and 1957 and was revived in 1977. Chopard has sponsored the rally since 1988. A new Mille Miglia watch is unveiled each year at the time of the race. While perusing the wares of the brand new Blancpain boutique on Fifth Avenue a few weeks back, I stumbled across this guy here. It's called the VIlleret Tourbillon Squelette 8-Day, and while it was announced at BaselWorld 2014, there wasn't a lot of attention given to it �C most was offered to the awesome new in-house chronograph movement seen in the Bathyscaphe Chronograph. But this new tourbillon has a lot going for it. 2 OF 3 First, it employs Blancpain's excellent in-house 8-day self-winding tourbillon caliber 25, which is quite thin at 4.85mm in thickness. That's not only thin for a tourbillon, it's also very thin for a tourbillon with an 8-day power reserve. Second, the case is an absolutely perfect 37.5mm in diameter. Yes, that's 37.5mm and nobody is calling it a lady's watch. This is the size a watch like this should be. Omega Planet Ocean - any regrets?
Hi All,I am new to the forum! Super excited! lolI just wanted your thought about my next watch. I bought a 2014 subc date in June 2014 and I am already on the hunt for my next baby. The sub is my only serious watch and is my daily watch.I was thinking of getting a date just 2 with lilac numerals and smooth bezel (current model). At the same time I am particularly drawn to planet ocean 42mill ceramic black. I have never really thought about getting an omega but i quiet like the planet ocean. Just before you jump the gun and say buy what you like what i am after is constructive advice from anyone who has a planet ocean. I love the Sub and whenever i wear it i just think to my self this watch is epic and was well worth it. I do not want to be wearing the PO in a few months thinking the complete opposite. Speedmaster of some kind. Where to begin?
Hi All,I've been bitten by the Speedmaster bug. I've acquired a few Rolex pieces from trusted sellers on TRF, and will likely be doing the same to acquire a nicely used Speedmaster. Only problem is, while I'm fairly educated on Rolex models, I have no idea where to begin with Omega. Pricing seems to vary wildly for a used Speedmaster (between $1600 - 4800USD). I think my budget is around 1,500-3000. A little help would be appreciated.1. What models to consider? (I'm not a fan of the newer 42mm size, so vintage might be best)2. Is my budget reasonable?3.
