Kering, the luxury goods conglomerate formerly known as Pinault-Printemps-Redoute (PPR), has acquired 100 percent of Swiss luxury watch brand Ulysse Nardin, an independent brand that had long been the subject of takeover rumors. Ulysse Nardin now joins the Sowind Group brands, Girard-Perregaux and Jeanrichard, in Kering’s expanding “Luxury – Watches and Jewellery” division.Scroll down to read the official press release from Kering and Ulysse Nardin, issued Wednesday, July 30.“Kering and Ulysse Nardin have signed an agreement for Kering to acquire 100% of the capital of Ulysse Nardin. The brand will join Kering's Luxury C Watches and Jewellery' division, headed by Albert Bensoussan, and the management team will remain in place. The deal is subject to the consent of the competition authorities and should be finalised during the second half of 2014.“Founded by Mr Ulysse Nardin in 1846 with its roots in the nautical world, the eponymous watchmaking hous

Omega Museum Pieces
Does anyone have an Omega Museum Piece in their collection? I am intrigued with them, and think it's a great idea to release modern versions of their historial classics. Would love to see some images if anyone has one. I like the 1st piece released, which is the 1938 pilot's watch. I think it's a little unique.
Do people comment on the Daytona or Rolex you are wearing?
I get very few comments when I wear either stainless steel Rolex Daytona - my 2011 (116520) or my new ceramic (116500LN), both with white dials. I can't remember the last time anybody gave me a thumbs up or said a word - years.I wonder if people know and don't say anything or what. I like to talk about watches and especially Rolex. Sometimes I ask about a watch somebody is wearing and they tell me all about it and seem to know watches and still don't say a word about my SS Daytona. I guess I need to join a watch club to get in any discussion about watches.Anybody know what I am saying?
Need help: new 116710LN or 116710 BLNR
Desperately need your guidance on whether to buy the Black GMT or Batman. I am trading in my Air King which I have had for 9 years. My heart is set on Batman, which I have found (5 - 6 hour round trip drive from my house). However, my local AD includes the first overhaul for free with any purchase. Naturally the local AD doesn't have Batman, just the Black GMT. Does anyone else think about total cost of ownership or am I overthinking this. I could always trade in the Batman in 7 years for a different/ new model thus negating the overhaul value of the negotiation. Any help you can provide is appreciated. Looking to pull the trigger next Wednesday. Thanks!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
