Intro Into Enamel: FHH Video On Enameling Techniques For Watches
This was a very interesting and informative video (translated to English from French) that recently came out from the FHH about enamel work on watches, and the four various types of techniques that are primarily used for watch dials. Many of us don't even recognize enamel art on watches - or cannot appreciate what goes into it. It is very tough work done by highly skilled (and patient) master artists who have been doing it for years. To get it just right on a watch dial can take a few tries as there is always risk involved in not only the actual painting, but also the 800 degree plus baking process. Most watches with "paintings" on them utilize enamel. This is because enamel lasts a long time, is hardy, will not fade, and has extremely bold and beautiful looks when done well. There is also the concept that a master worker hand-loved the dial of the watch and now you get to wear it.Not being an expert on enamel, I can't go into a lot of detail about it, but here it is in a nut shell. Looking to get into Paneri...
I've been reading up on Paneri and looking through this forum lately. I like the cases with crown guards the best. I also like the dials where the numbers are cut out and the lume is underneath. Movement isn't a huge deal to me. What series would be the best for me to start looking at? Any help would be appreciated!
First Panerai, 219!
I found a new destro at jay Roberts in jersey! Couldn't believe I found a new one so I had to snag it. I've been looking for a while and finally pulled the trigger when I saw that. Love it!
My Latest Trip to Rolex AD
Saturday was my latest trip to go see the authorized Rolex dealer closest to me and there were a few people in the Rolex section more crowded than usual trying on datejusts. Observation was there was one new GMT and I don't mean Baselworld new, I mean one new GMT for sale which was the old black cerachrom bezel. Two Daytona's I'm sure they were PM but still no sports model stainless steel watches.Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
