Found: An Omega Speedmaster Gifted By Paul Newman
Paul Newman, as HODINKEE readers probably know, was both a renowned actor and a professional racing driver, who famously prompted his wife to gift him a Rolex Daytona to time his laps. He actually owned several versions of the Daytona chronograph, including one with an exotic dial that was later nicknamed after him (and which would go on to become one of the most collectible, as well as enthusiastically faked, watches to ever exist).So what is the connection between Paul Newman and a blue-dial Omega Speedmaster that just came up for sale? This very Speedmaster was actually a Christmas gift from Paul Newman to a member of his racing team almost 20 years ago. Well today I got a nice surprise in my email box, a 20% off coupon for anything on the military exchange site!The best there is would be the TAG and OMEGA watches. The prices are about 10% below list anyway, and there is no sales tax. So I am shopping....looking...wondering....it is today only.They sure know how to hurt me. I have no idea what to get! And the clock is ticking!

One week of thoughts: Full gold Submariner Blue or Black
Hi everyone! As the title says I have one week to decide which version should I choose from the two mentioned above. 116618LB or 116618LN. For the moment I lean to the black one. Why? Because I think the YG is already very bling so I find that the blue version will therefore be extremly bling and hard to match with everything. I personally find the YG and black dial and bezel combo more elegant and classic. I've tried also the YG GMT green dial and it is not for me. Also the WG Smurf doesn't sing to me. So the final pick ia between this two beauties.

1st Post, 1st (& 2nd) Rolex!
I've had several pieces over the years, but I hadn't dove into Rolex because I just didn't want to. I like what I like and I really liked what I had, my favorite being an Omega PO 42mm LiquidMetal in full titanium. That is such a nice, nice watch. I have a 3 piece maximum rule because my 4th favorite rarely gets worn, but I decided to change things up. I just absolutely loved the GMT BLNR so I decided to pick one up after calling 10 AD's (most of them laughed when I asked if they had one in stock) and finally finding one. I couldn't have been more on the fence after I tried on a SubC once I got to the AD though, but I decided to stick with the Batman because it's just such a cool piece. Had it for 11 days but couldn't get that SubC out of my head so I sold my PO and picked one up. Im in now!
