Watches NEWS
Buying my first AP!
I just bought my first AP - an offshore diver. Will post pics when it gets delivered. With the good news out of the way, I wanted to ask the AP people their opinion: Do you think the 15202R will get discontinued anytime soon? I tried on the watch this past weekend and LOVE it but I can't afford it just yet. I would hate to see it discontinued before I get purchase one. Do you think the AP Royal Oak Extra Thin (JUMBO) is here for the long haul? Will AP make changes to the model or do they normally just leave things as is?Thanks!
Incoming Number 2...
No teaser this time, straight on with the show. Now some of my comments on other threads will make sense! I was fortunate enough to liberate this unworn from a collector. It's difficult to tell in the photos, but it has the fantastic blue strap also used on the 5235G.Unfortunately some of my other (non-Patek) pieces have bitten the dust, but I have absolutely no regrets!
Paneristi GTGs - Northern California?
I looked on Paneristi. Threads seem pretty old re GTGs.Anyone know if groups meet up regularly in say San Francisco?Has the cult of P gone to sleep?
Tudor's Weird GMT Hand??
When Tudor released the new GMT at Basel, I didn't care at first but the watch quickly grew on me.As I started to digest images and videos of the watch one thing stuck that once I saw it, I couldn't unsee it. Now my eyes are drawn to it, in a bad way.The red GMT hand seems to me to be too long. It protrudes past the outer perimeter of the gilt dial. That just seems very wrong to me. Is that normal, does that make sense. I tried to see if early Rolex GMTs did that but couldn't find an example. I know that logically the red GMT hand is to mark the numbers on the bezel so please don't beat me up about that being the reason. It could have easily stayed within the inner gilt circumference and still relate to the bezel. I considered it may be the angle but every single image or video I've seen shows this regardless of angle. (Hopefully that is the situation and then case closed, otherwise...why).Why would Tudor do that. If this goes to production like this, it will likely prevent me from buy
New Rolex for me and I'm loving it
Hi all, after owning a Ceramic GMT Master for a couple of years, I realized that I never used the function, nor even learned the whole Greenwich stuff, and becoming tired os seeing the big GMT hand on my dial, I knew I had to change it.So I found myself wearing more and more my Seamaster for its cleaner dial and I really use that divers bezel for timing stuff, very useful for me.So I started to search for a black 2 tone Submariner, and with the huge demand and low production for Rolex sports models it was hard to find one, so my dealer called me and told me that he had a blue submariner, I didn't wanted it because I had a blue Seamaster but I went to see it in person anyway, and man, I was totally blown away and fell in love instantly with it.That sunburst dial combined with the blue cerachrom bezel was just awesome, so I got a great deal and I'm totally happy that I got te blue over the black.I know this is one of the most popular model if not the most popular, and I see a ton of them
