Dial replacement on 15400
Hi everyone,New to the watch world. I have recently taken interest in a watch.. it was a royal oak 15400, and was originally a black dial. The previous owner had sent it to a AP authorized service dealer to have the dial switched out from black to blue. Is there any cause for concern over here? From what i've read it's not too common, or even at all, that they switch to blue dials from white or black dials, as they are 'boutique' or special editions. The seller has sent me the invoice/service report outlining that they did do a dial swap from black to blue and I contacted the service dealer as well in order to confirm that the report is authentic and it was.I'm just a little worried because of what i've read. I just want to make sure that it's legitimate. The store I am buying from is very reputable and have been in the business for a very long time. Also, previous owner had apparently paid significant sum for them to switch it out.I appreciate your help!I've attached a picture of the
Movin' on Up...
Bought the RG Rubberclad in 2011 and loved it and wore it for 2.5 years.Recently sold it and moved on up to the 44mm RG ROO Novelty.I think its going to take winning the lottery to make the final leap to the ultimate AP RG ROO...the tourbillon!!!Wrist shot and a pic with its two younger brothers below...
Sadly my longtime favorite dealer is hanging it up
Jim at Continental Jewelers in Washington, DC, has decided to close out his watch business. As many of you recall, Jim's leased location was demolished for new construction several years ago. Because of his age (he will be 83 in October) and Omega's move from ADs to boutiques, Jim decided not to go with the expense of a new show room which meant losing his AD status with Omega. He has been able to continue business as usual but now due to his wife's illness, his intent is to be closed down by the end of the year. He has a couple of hundred watches that he needs to move so if you are looking for a new one, now is the time to give Jim a call.Jim asked me to thank all of his customers and forum friends for their prayers and support.
232 stopped winding
These watches are beautiful, last serviced in 2015, I bought it used, and it stopped winding today, I'm guessing main spring.any idea on service cost now? I assume best plan is to go to Panerai for this?I've had my 005 service twice (once for condensation from a pool) I might have to go back to Rolex. my sub date takes a beating.
Pam 177
