Blue Diamond Achieves Record Price at Sotheby’s
On Tuesday May 12, Sotheby’s realized $9,488,754 (CHF 10,498,500 / 7,024,336) for a fancy vivid blue, internally flawless cushion-shaped diamond weighing 7.03 carats. This is the highest price for a fancy vivid blue diamond sold at auction and the world-record price per carat for any gemstone sold at auction – $1,349,752. The sale was held in Geneva, and the price topped the pre-sale estimate of $5.8-8.5 million. The diamond, which was cut from a 26.58 carat rough, was discovered in 2008 at Petra Diamonds' historic Cullinan diamond mine in South Africa, the world's most consistently reliable source of blue diamonds. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) graded the stone as fancy vivid blue in color and internally flawless in clarity, the highest possible grading for a blue diamond. The winning bidder, who wishes to remain anonymous, has not yet exercised his or her privilege to name the stone.
15703/15710 size and comfort
Hey guys,Thinking about getting an AP Diver. Only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is the size and comfort. I've tried it on on multiple occasions when visiting ADs and I think it works fine, but it's difficult to know without wearing the watch for at least a couple of hours. I've added some picture. My wrist size is 7 inches. m.imgur/a/CPZQFI like large watches, I own a 47mm PAM372 and have no issues with it. Would you guys say it wears bigger than a 47mm Panerai? I've read some comments saying it wears bigger than a 44mm Panerai , that's why I'm asking.. Many thanks
42mm ROO, black/red or slate grey?
Hey guys! With impending price increase I've decided to pull the trigger on a new ROO that I've been thinking about for some time. Having a tough time deciding between which of the two aforementioned models I should go for. I'd like to be able to wear either watch dressed up or casually. For those of you with the black/red, does the stitching on the strap stand out too much for a more formal business environment? I think the grey is really great to look at it but I wonder if that cool color will start to get plain after a few months. Any input and wristshots would be greatly appreciated!
Madrid/Barcelona AD - hope to score
I am going to Madrid and Barcelona next week and want some recommendations on AD with good inventory and possibly some hard to find timepieces such as 5711s....Many thanks!
Oysterclasp springbar problem
Hi everyone,Recently acquired an explorer ii. I've noticed that the snap-fit mechanism was loose and upon closer inspection, one end of the springbar that attaches the snap-fit module to the clasp does not fit in the clasp hole.I've taken a couple of photos to hopefully illustrate this problem better. No matter how hard I try, I can't get the springbar to fit. It is not bent. The springbar fits the clasp without the snap-fit module but not when it is through the module. Any thoughts?Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
