Easy Does It With The Mido Jubilee Chronometer Watch
Sometimes you want something excessive and sporty; or perhaps something stunning and formal. Other times however you really want just something simple, elegant, and useful; but that doesnt look like a drugstore Timex (shudder). For those times there is the new Mido Jubilee. A nicely designed watch without a hint of pretention, that will never let you down.Mido has a ton of history, and is now part of the Swatch Group. The brand is more popular in Asia, but can be found in the states as well. One of the brands most popular watches is the Mido Commander series, which has an incredibly 1950's look that is somewhere between classy and avant-garde.Other than the somewhat confusing name "Jubilee," this watch is nicely done. The large open face is done in a cream color with an IWC-like font for the Arabic numerals. The thin bezel adds to the elegance and appearance of size, while the star of the dial is really the crisp dagger hands. The case itself is 42mm wide with 5 bars water resistance.T
speed pro or speed 9300
I have been trying to decide which one of these to purchase.I know that the pro is the icon but it seems the 9300 movement has a lot of good review. I have concerns however about the 44mm size and 16mm thickness of the 9300.In addition, the extra cost is a factor as well.Anyone opinions on both will be appreciated.
Thinking of downsizing to a 42mm Panerai...
I've owned several PAMs over the years, a 111, 000, 312, 287, 024 and currently a 233. Though I deeply appreciate the brand, I've somehow come to the conclusion that the 44-45mm size is just too large on my wrists (6.5 inches). I've been looking at the 42mm Panerai models and have been attracted to some of the Radiomir models (337, 514) but I am looking at something with a date. Also saw and admire the 184 which is somehow hard to come by. The Luminor 392 seems a bit too thick for me. I wanted to ask members experiences with handling a 42mm Panerai (Luminor or Radiomir) and if anyone can recommend something that is slim and with the date function. I guess I am looking for something with the overall Panerai aesthetic but somehow not too bulky on my wrist. Sausage or sandwich dial is fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated. After Manual Wind, Slight Rotation Necessary?
I noticed every time after manually winding, after I screw the crown back in, the watch will not start unless I give the watch at least a slight rotation. Is something disengaged and won't reengage until the rotor moves?I want to make sure it's working how intended.
Positively glowing !
