Fortis "Cargo" Movie Limited Edition Spacematic & Spaceleader Watches
Heard of the science fiction movie Cargo? No? Neither did I until recently. It will be released soon and is a Swiss film. I didn't know they make sci-fi movies, but I will go with it. Check out the trailer here. We have seen this plot before. Can't say how good the movie will be based on the trailer so we will wait until it comes out soon. Nevertheless, Swiss Fortis will come out with two very cool watches in celebration of the movie. My favorite being the Fortis Cargo Limited Edition Spaceleader watch. A very cool timepiece with a sophisticated futuristic look and a nice Valjoux 7750 mechanical movement. To be fair, Fortis did not come up with all of the design themselves. You can see some borrowing from brands such as Xemex and Ventura, but you should really not care. The spacey looking asymmetrical case make for just watch the spaceship captain ordered. The the design was actually a collaboration between Fortis and Volkswagen Design. More on the watches in a moment. You know that For
ROO strap compatibility?
Is it true that the diver and the 42mm ROO can share straps? What about the 44mm?If so, besides the rubber strap that comes with the diver, what other straps are available in tang buckle that would fit the diver or 42mm?Reason why I ask is because I like the 42mm versions too but hate the deployant buckle, interested in knowing what the options for tang buckles are if I went with a 42mm.
You couldn't make this up.
Was in an AD today looking for the new PO when a guy came in asking about an Omega he had seen that glowed bright blue with lights in, the AD explained that Omega didn't make a watch like that. The guy was adament they did and had seen it the night before, the AD asked where and he said it was in a film and a man ended up in a ball in the snow and turned the lights on in the watch. Being a bit of a Bond and Omega fan I realised he was talking about the scene in The World is Not Enough. I told the AD what the man was on about and explained to the man it was from a Bond film and not real, he said it was real as he had seen it in the film and wanted one. The AD explained again that it was not real and only a prop from a film and never made for sale, but this is the best bit he turned round and told the AD if he couldn't get it he would got to another Omega dealer. Some people never listen and never belive I suppose thats what makes the world go round.
16613 prices?
Shopping for used 16613 and I have seen prices increase on several sites recently. Should I wait for prices to come down?
No more waiting... Platinum, Ceramic GMTs (pics)
With the teaser promising the donning of the jubilee on a sports model, presumably a new GMT, the speculation and wishful thinking for a platinum GMT model has all but dwindled to a whisper approaching the final day before the big reveals. So, I thought I would add a small contribution, as my own teaser, for what is unlikely to come to pass as another Basel comes and goes. New Coke, or Blueberry, or Pepsi, or LN offered on jubilee should be enough to hold us over for the next 11 months --or two weeks-- before the Basel 2019 predictions start If the general consensus is that the WG sports models didn't sell too well, what would be the rational that a higher priced similarly toned model would do any better? I assume the Daytona may be an anomaly, or off limits to discuss, since I can't recall any discussions on how good or bad sales may be for the PM models.
