Hamilton Celebrates 120 Years With Exhibit at New York’s Tourneau Time Machine
Hamilton Watch Company, founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1892, marks its 120th anniversary this year. To commemorate the milestone, Hamilton has collaborated with the National Watch & Clock Museum (NAWCC) , one of the world's largest museums devoted to the art, science and history of timepieces and timekeeping, to curate a month-long public exhibit of Hamilton archives at New York City’s Tourneau Time Machine. The exhibit, which opened on June 4, takes a look back at Hamilton through the years, and is chock-full of interesting items for watch lovers and history buffs, including photos of the original Hamilton factory and past employees, several vintage timepieces (including a marine chronometer from the 1940s, an original Hamilton Pulsar, and the Ventura model that Elvis Presley wore in Blue Hawaii), dozens of old advertisements, original company newsletters and video testimonials from former employees. All items are either from Hamilton's archives or on loan from the NAW
Behind The Curtain At watches-dealer: What A Watch Blogger Really Does
Ever wondered what it is like to work with Ariel Adams?I certainly did, and in the last four months, I have been treated to a spectacle beyond my comprehension, leading to a vague understanding that perhaps I have stumbled into a place that I was meant to be.Now, if you are a regular follower of watches-dealer (ABTW), I will not presume to know who you are. However, I can certainly say that you are most likely a watch lover of some kind. And if you have been a follower for a reasonable amount of time, then I can say that you are most likely aware of the current industry trends, and the latest watches that have been around. If what I have just said describes you, then let me tell you that this was the state I was in only four months ago. For more than two years prior, I had been an avid reader and follower of ABTW. I made it a point to log on to the website every day as part of my ritual, and the articles within have even prompted some satisfying watch purchases that would not have been
New Speedmaster Racing
Just wanted to share a pic of my recent acquisition. My first Omega. Very happy with it so far. Will post some thoughts once I get some more wrist time with it. Let me know if you have questions. Cheers!
Rolex goes upmarket
I read a post a few months ago about rolex going up market and i cant help but feel thus is true.Called in to my AD today was told stock levels are hopeless and waiting lists are closed. This is the same AD I bought two subs from new. Was told numerically speaking I was not a VIP customer and would not find my self on any list.I can’t undertand how stock levels can be so low, its either rolex is genuinely holding back stock or ADs are selling direct to the grey market. What are your thoughts on current supply? Will it get any better? Its been atleast two years now?Time to move on. AP here i come...
In search of a BLNR
Hi Everyone, Been browsing the forum, drooling at all the BLNR's out there. I'm normally on the Omega Forums, and the BLNR is on the list for being my first Rolex. Just that every time I have funds saved up, there is a new Speedmaster released, so I never had the funds to pick up a BLNR. As luck would have it, my boss (and watch collector) would like to thank me for the excellent work I've contributed to the company. He knows I'm an avid Omega collector and fan, and offered to gift me an Omega watch for Christmas. Asked for a couple of watches I was interested in. I provided him two watches. An Omega, which I've had my eye on, and a BLNR. I put the BLNR second, and noted as If you would like to gift me my first Rolex.Maybe that works, and I've been quested to find one in stock. So, if anyone has an AD in the US (not in California) that has a BLNR in stock and willing to ship, I would greatly appreciate any leads. Looking forward to joining the Rolex and BLNR Family.
