Reborn Halda Watch Co. to Send Timepiece Into Space
Swedish manufacturer Halda Watch Co. has announced that ESA astronaut Christer Fuglesang will wear a new watch called the Halda Space Discovery during a trip aboard the shuttle Discovery, currently scheduled to launch on August 28. The watch was developed with Fuglesang to meet an astronaut’s requirements, and the trip into space is part of the development process. The watch – to be produced in a limited edition of 128 pieces – will go on sale in December. The Halda Space Discovery consists of a “time platform” with two replaceable time modules: an advanced electronic module, and a module with a high beat mechanical movement modernized by renowned watchmaker Svend Andersen. The electronic time module provides functions such as a 3�\axis accelerometer, a particle counter, UTC/MET alarms, and an Earth Timer. Opinions on the Cal. 2385
I am seriously considering purchasing a RO chrono with the Cal. 2385 movement. I realize this is an F. Piguet Cal. 1185 base movement tweaked by AP and that this movement is also used in other watches, like the VC Overseas chrono.Any thoughts or opinions on the 2385? Reliability, accuracy, etc. Does it matter that this is not an AP movement inside a storied AP model?I appreciate your comments.Thanks.Cheers,-Marc

Connecticut Service Center returned scratched my watch
Hi,Just want to share my experience and frustration.I bought Colt 44 in July and the movement had issues. In November I took it to the WTC boutique and they sent it to the SC in Connecticut.6 weeks later I got it back with scratches on the bracelet, side of the case and lower part (4-6) of the bezel. Naturally, I complained but was told that it is my fault. The center does not have any pictures of the watch before service or after service.... The best they offered to rectify this was $180 charge for polishing.Is my experience unique? Any advice? Thank you
