Montblanc Villeret Grande Chronographe Watch
Exclusive manual-winding 16-360 movement, whose constructive and decorative elements are entirely in agreement with the traditional watchmaking and Montblanc Villeret Grande regulator chronograph watch is controlled. The frequency of the internal manufactured balance wheel, which is equipped with massive live on its edge and involute curve terminal Philips is 18 000 beats per hour. Each structure of the movement, bridges and levers of chronograph in the mechanism of the winding wheel are patiently in bevel and polished. The calibre of Montblanc 16-360 naturally uses a column-wheel to control Chronograph, and in agreement with the concept of high quality watchmaking, the regulator is elegant Swan-neck type, whose form displays ample technical bevelling of finishing. A back hinge protects a window of exposure Sapphire, which gauge may be easily admired.
My AP warranty - your input required
So I just bought a AP recently from the gray market.... and I have a question regarding the warranty. As you all know there are 3 leaflets in the warranty book. One is for the client/ customer.... second for the retailer.... and third is for registration, and all 3 are clearly market on leaflets.... Now when you buy an AP from an AD they tear off the second leaflet which says retailer and keep it with them and give the rest of the book back to you...I'm not sure what they do with that leaflet. Now when I got my watch from the gray market.... it has retailer name on it and is also stamped but not signed.... and also the retailer. Leaflet is still in the booklet meaning the retailer didn't take it out...So is my warranty valid? Is everything ok? Can I also register my watch online or using the 3rd leaflet? Thanks in advance for you feedback
Update on Jim @ Continental
Several have asked me about an updated closeout list and there may be one upcoming but if you are interested in a particular Omega, now is the time to give Jim a call. His office lease expires in a couple of months and he needs to dispose of his inventory before then. He is ready to cut some deals on existing inventory. He would rather ship his watches to his forum friends than to a reseller. He is also shipping some swag down for those attending the Atlanta GTG on April 30th. More on that later.
Automatic movements and vibration
This is more of a movement question vs a Rolex specific question. What are some activities where you wouldn't want to wear a watch with an automatic movement?I'm thinking of high vibration situations like riding a motorcycle or pushing a lawn mower. Can you do damage to an automatic movement this way?
Rolex Factory Serti Dial
Rolex at one time made available the most gorgeous replacement Serti dials. These have all but disappeared. They can no longer be had through an AD. At least not in the Dallas, TX area. The aftermarket ones are of questionable build quality as I've sadly discovered. Does anyone have knowledge of why Rolex quit manufacturing them ?
