Baselworld 2015: New Versions of the Glashtte Original PanoMaticLunar and PanoReserve (Updated with Live Photos)
A line extension doesn't just add one more version of the same watch. By offering different color and material combinations with a familiar movement, a brand can reconsider a watch model, or it can highlight links between different models by dressing them in similar clothes. This latter option is what happens with Glashtte Original's new Pano offerings, which it presented for the first time at Baselworld 2015. The Saxony manufacture is bringing out new editions of its PanoMaticLunar and PanoReserve watches, each in a black or a blue theme.Until now, the Glashtte Original PanoMaticLunar was available with a white or anthracite dial. The two versions that will come to market after the Basel fair are in matte black (with a rose-gold case) and dark blue (with a stainless-steel case). The dials are made at Glashtte Original's dial factory in Pforzheim, Germany. Over 40 operations are needed to make and finish the dial, including the meticulous process of galvanizing it to achieve the pro
Tissot T-Touch 'Pocket Touch' Watch
The Tissot Pocket Touch is an interesting item with a distinct niche appeal which transforms the extremely popular Tissot T-Touch collection into a pocket watch. watches-dealer recently reviewed the new Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar watch here, which was new for 2014 (and will have some 2015 updates). The also new for 2015 Tissot Pocket Touch is aimed at outdoor adventurers or anyone else needing a highly functional Swiss quartz watch with an environmental sensor array (or perhaps anyone else who thinks the T-Touch is cool but already has a timepiece, or doesn't want to wear one). The Pocket Touch works just like T-Touch watches, in that the user activates the sapphire crystal screen to become a touch screen.Pushing various points on the edge of the dial (or in the center) activates features such as a compass, thermometer, altimeter, barometer (Meteo), chronograph, alarms, and second time zone. The Swiss ETA caliber E48.311 quartz movement also includes a calendar and back-light function
140 pieces IWC Vintage Collection will be sold
In 140 years, the manufacture of Schaffhausen on six of his own famous milestone watches: Portuguese, engineer, pilot's Watch, Leonardo da Vinci, Aquatimer and Portofino.
Although all are part of the current collection, these pieces reflect the history of each model while keeping pace with the current state of the IWC. For example, it is now possible to see just what the 1955 engineer would look like the current dimensions (42.5 mm) as opposed to the original 37.5 mm.
While the first 140 Platinum models will be sold in a set of limited edition, the variants in stainless steel are available individually and indefinitely, making their good and really part of the contemporary collection.
grey versus AD
Hi all,I'd appreciate any expertise and opinion. Given that I've never purchased or have a relationship with an AD, should I expect to pay full MSRP plus tax from an AD, or maybe just MSRP? I'm asking specifically for a popular piece like the BLNR, granted I can find one. Aside from the experience of purchasing brand new from an AD and focusing sheerly on cost, I'm trying to figure out at what price it'd be about the same if I bought from a BNIB from the grey market, even if it's marked up. Anything else I'm missing? Thanks.
