Ulysse Nardin Announces New Proprietary Silicon Anchor Escapement
Creating a proprietary escapement is perhaps the ultimate challenge for all watchmakers, regardless of whether we are speaking about a craftsman working alone or about an entire company producing thousands or hundreds of thousands of watches. The escapement is the arrangement of components responsible for transferring the energy coming from the mainspring barrel through the going train (the series of wheels linked to the mainspring barrel) onto the balance wheel. In other words, the escapement plays a major role in dividing each "beat" into equal doses, as every "tick" of the escapement releases only a small amount of energy from the mainspring. No Pepsi and CHNR?
Stopped in to my local AD this afternoon for the hell of it (and to chit chat about the SS Pepsi waitlist I'm on with them). I was thinking of picking up a TT CHNR, so I inquired. Apparently not much of a waitlist and they were able to submit an order request to Rolex. Apparently not a sought after watch? Anyway, I found this interesting. The salesman said that my CHNR order request might get turned down by Rolex, since I'm on a list for the Pepsi. This was to avoid flippers. Has anyone else heard this? Is it possible for Rolex to turn you down from ordering two separate models at the same time?
BLRO is reportedly discontinued as of today!
a trusted source at an AD told me they heard directly from Rolex that as of today the BLRO has been officially retired.Take it with a grain of salt but in years past, this source has had reliable info.If true, RIP BLRO!Now, the speculation begins as to whether this means SS Pepsi? OR simply that the red and blue is retired due to the constant rumors that the bezel is difficult to produce in numbers. Time will tell and don't shoot the messenger
