Watches NEWS
BEST FROM: watches-dealer & Friends 9 May, 2014
In the month of May, we pay a visit to Chopard's workshops and also check out their new L.U.C Tourbillon Qualite Fleurier Watch, which uses Fairmined gold. Speaking of new watches, we also check out Patek Philippe's awesome new Reference 5990/1A Nautilus watch; Seiko's fast-beating Hi-Beat 36,000 GMT watch; and the most affordable Legacy Machine from MB&F yet. That's not all, we also examine the history of dive watch; analyze the second-hand watch mark; and attempt to engrave the caseback of Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso.1. The History Of Dive WatchesThe dive watch as we know it is one of the most popular types of watches today. Rolex's Submariner, Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms, Panerai's Radiomir and Seiko's Monster are all examples of popular watches that are also bona fide dive watches. Polar Explorer II 16570
Hi all,This is my first post on the forum, so apologies ahead of time if these are dumb questions (though I've done my best to scour the internet/forums to get as much info as possible beforehand).I'm in the market for a watch with a GMT complication, and think I've settled on the Polar Explorer II, ref. 16570. It seems to be universally praised as being the best bang for your buck and also flies a little under the radar, which are both appealing of course. I know this particular reference has different combinations available (T < 25 vs. Swiss only vs. Swiss Made, holes vs. no-holes, non-SEL vs. SEL). I think I prefer luminova as opposed to tritium, as I would want there to still be some functionality there. I've read that Swiss only means luminova whereas Swiss Made indicates superluminova, but I've read inconsistent posts between the two. So Question #1 - is superluminova indeed superior to luminova in terms of performance (brightness/longevity), or is it simply a name change?Next
We will know in less than 2 weeks!
Can't wait..its almost here!But....then another wait begins to see actual pictures (As opposed to the computer renderings on rolex's web site) when people get back from Basel and post!
Tudor Ranger metal strap fit a Black Bay?
Hi, I have recently purchased a Tudor Heritage Black Bay burgundy and wasn't a fan of the metal strap it came with, mainly because of the rivet' bracelet.I really likely the metal strap on the Tudor Ranger and was wondering if this would fit on my BB? The watches, I believe, are both 41mm.I can ask my AD but have always found the folks on this forum to be incredibly knowledgable. Thanks in advanceSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
