Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk Limited Edition Watch To be Auctioned Off
This is one of the few times I have seen a watch at auction and thought to myself "damn, I need to be there for that." This is the very ultra cool Seiko Spring Drive Spacewalk watch. There are only six of these watches in the world, and Seiko made them to celebrate Richard Garriot's 'celebutrip' to the ISS (International Space Station) with the Russians. The story is actually kinda sad if you ask me. Richard Garriot became famous as a video game designer. Fame came with the Ultima series of computer RPG games, and most lately, the MMORPG game Tabula Rasa was supposedly interesting, but a flop. Anyone, Garriot become a millionaire and watches so much to go to space. His dad was an astronaut, and he just wanted the same thing for himself. Garriot reportedly spent the bulk of his fortune to get the Russians to take him to space. Lots of training and quasi-gulag living, and he did it. Maybe a bit anti-climacticbut maybe he can eventually turn it into another marketable game franchise.I don
A Look at the Autodromo Prototipo Nero and Silver
A few months ago, I had the pleasure of reviewing the Autodromo Prototipos. These 70's inspired racing chronographs really struck a chord for me, with their excellent styling, superb detailing and reasonable prices. On top of that, they used Seiko Mecha-Quartz movements, which combine the affordability and accuracy of a quartz, with the functionality of a mechanical chronograph. These are movements that I'm a big fan of, and are grossly underused in the industry, so I was really excited to see them in such a cool watch.Recently, Autodromo added two more models to the Prototipo collection, bringing the total number of styles to 4 (well, technically 5 including the Vic Elford limited edition, but that is long sold out). The new models round out the series, adding a silver dialed version with orange accents for a retro palette, and a PVD model with yellow highlights for something more aggressive. Needless to say, I had to spend some time with the new versions after being smitten with the

40th anniversary moonwatch
Hi I am an omega nut, I have 3 at the moment. 1 planet ocean, 1 planet ocean chrono with the orange bezel and I just picked up my new (for Christmas present ) gold/s/s broad arrow speedmaster with brown dial and gold accents. My question is this:-for my next Omega I am considering the 40th anniversary moonwatch. Do you think that this Speedmaster special edition watch is a good investment at 3500. (I can get 10% discount of this price) do you think it will increase in value at all over the years? Any thoughts welcome about this watch. Thanks and happy and holidays everyone.
