Rolex & Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Car Show
One of my favorite places in the world is the Monterey Bay area along the central coast of California. I've regularly traveled to Monterey and adjacent cities such as Carmel-by-the-Sea and Pebble Beach since I was a child - perpetually enjoying the natural beauty and particular events found in the region. Each August, "Classic Car Week" fills the streets, hotels, and almost every venue, with people coming to town for the Concours d'Elegance, as well as related events which are all about celebrating (as well as buying and selling) beautiful and distinguished automobiles. For quite some time now, the official sponsor of the Concours and other events, such as that at the Mazda Speedway at Laguna Seca and the Quail Lodge show is Rolex watches. In this article, I'd like to explain what some of these events are about, share some experience of what it is like to be there, and attempt to persuade car lovers of all types to visit at least once in their life. While the Monterey Classic Car Week i
OT: Omega Speedmaster...
Would love to ask the Rolex community here what your thoughts are on the Omega Speedmaster Pro...I've done a bit of research, lurked in the omega forums, etc. I was looking at the: 311.30 until I found a writeup someone wrote with some pretty negative comments about the 3313 co-axial movement. I guess the other two options (excluding all the limited edition variants) are:3570.50 - hesalite3573.50 - sapphireBut as someone who's new to Omegas, I would love to hear your thoughts / impressions / experiences with any of the above models. I'm posting it here because - if the folks here give it a thumbs up, I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with the watch. That's how much I trust everyone's opinion. :-)Thanks!p.s. obligatory pic attached.

1st Panerai arrived from DavidSW
Quite a box Panerai provides for it's watches. Like a 10lb box for a 44mm watch, haha! Here it is... Awesome!!!
Incoming: ceramic Daytona
As a follow up to my other thread regarding my (only) 8 month wait, i picked up my Daytona this morning. I could've had my choice of color when i ordered, but i wanted black - classic look and is a perfect partner to my Mitsukoshi Speedmaster.Such a beautiful piece. Hard to imagine anything else is my collection is going to be getting any wrist time in the near future...As for policies, procedures, etc. My dealer basically handed me the watch in the plastic shipping container - untouched by anyone, even them. I could have walked right out and they wouldn't have cared. However, I opened it up, took the stickers off and had them remove a link. They filled out the warranty card and activated it. No mention of any directive from Rolex to de-sticker, photocopy my ID and warranty card, etc. so ymmv on that. Here is it:
