The highlights include a recently discovered Patek Philippe quarter and special type five-minute repeating 24-hours in one revolution pocket watch and a Patek Philippe ref. 1518 in yellow gold. Hoesch, Villa Barbaia, Mergellina, Naples, on November 27, 1894 for 3750 Swiss Francs. It is a highly important 18K pink gold, keyless pocket watch with perpetual calendar, chronograph, moon phases, and lunar calendar accompanied by the original certificate of origin and Patek Philippe sales receipt. F.P. Journe Launches 10th Anniversary Chronom��tre �� Resonance
Though it was not the first piece produced under the F.P. Journe brand, the Chronom��tre �� Resonance certainly played a major role in establishing Journe’s reputation as a creative maverick. When it was launched, the watch, and the theory behind it, were frequently discussed in the online forums. In 2004, Journe introduced the second version of the R��sonance with the first movement ever made in 18K rose gold, a specification that still applies to all of the brand’s chronometers. Now in 2010, Journe launches a special 10th anniversary model. The dial at 9 o’clock now offers twin digital disks with a 24 hour display, defining the hours of day and night. The dial at 3 o’clock in silver guilloche indicates the local time in a traditional 12 hour display. The movement remains in 18K rose gold, and a new gear transmission has been added to power the 24 hour display. In the world of limited edition Panerai watches there are cool ones and boring ones. This is one of the really cool ones. I also love that they all (limited to 100 pieces) sold out within one hour of being released. This is the Panerai Luminor Submersible PAM 358, and was specially made for the Parisian high-end watch store Chronopassion. The PAM 358 is a pretty crazy watch. Water resistant to 2500 meters (over 8,000 feet), the watch is shaped like a diving vessel with a large rounded bottom. It is known as a "destro" model, or lefty model, because the crown is on the left side of the watch. It is really thick as well - even by Panerai standard. The case is 47mm wide in titanium with a special rotating diver's bezel that is in steel.
