Konstantin Chaykin Cinema Watch
New for 2013, our favorite Russian watch maker Konstantin Chaykin will release a rather amazing new timepiece called the Cinema. The piece is a poetic nod to the early era of film making and specifically honors the inventor of the zoopraxiscope, Eadweard Muybridge. The zoopraxiscope is credited as being probably the world's first movie projector, and was produced around 1879. Using a wheel with a series of pictures on it, the machine was able to project an animated image. This complication is actually built into the Cinema watch, being Konstantin Chaykin's very first attempt at such a feature, and the only one that we are aware of in a wrist watch. In the video below you can see a demonstration of the animation complication in action. Activating the left crown causes a disc to spin rapidly under the dial in what appears to be a magnified window. The illusion creates an animation of a man riding a galloping horse. The subject is no coincidence, as the original mechanism was apparently fi

Omega Aqua Terra Annual Calendar Question
So I've been in the market for an AT Annual Calendar for a while and on my recent trip to NYC I stopped into the Omega boutique to decide on the dial and so forth. Turns out they have the skyfall blue dial just released and get this they actually LOWERED the price from 9500 to 8400. Reason given was the month and date no longer have frames around them hence less labor. It's so strange to see lowered prices for popular models like this but then again 43mm is a rather large case to wear. I think Omega pulls it off beautifully unlike Rolex with their super size models. Which would you choose given the factors mentioned? The sales rep told me both have gold dial markings but the previous version had the gold frames as well. The movement should be the same I would think. It's either the skyfall blue or the older teak version. Thanks
Some Omega news . . .
My dealer expects the new POs to begin arriving next month. He has quite a few on order and several already sold. The Ti, PO chrono, and SMPs will come in later in the year. The current POs and SMPs will continue to be available so long as the supplies last. The Liquidmetal LE production of 1948 pieces has ended and all have been shipped out to the distribution centers.I stopped into a local Omega AD yesterday and noticed that they had cleared out one of their Breitling cases. I asked what happened and they said they were making room for the 2011 Omegas. It seems that Greg Swift, President Omega USA, was in the store last Wednesday to confirm their status as an ongoing AD so they are expanding their Omega inventory. When I first visited that store back in 2008, they had just become a Rolex AD. The Rolex inventory took up four cases and the Omega were in a small case in the back. With some encouragement from me, they moved the Omegas up front near the entrance and soon added a se
Can anyone ID this strap?
I love this thing...saw it on another forum, PM'd the guy to ask, but he's ignoring me. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Judging by what I can see of the back, I'd say it appears to be genuine Omega, but I can't find one like this anywhere, so please, educate me folks!
