Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph Ref. 5980 Watch
New Patek Philippe watches for 2010 didn't exactly make me jump for joy, but I did like the two new additions to the Nautilus collection. No new movements, but new implementations in the Nautilus cases. Here is the Nautilus Chronograph (ref. 5980 in steel and 5980R in gold), and I also liked the Nautilus Annual Calendar Ref. 5726 that I wrote about here. What I like about the layout of the Patek Philippe Caliber CH 280520 C is that is it is a 12 hour chronograph that looks like a watch with only a subsidiary seconds dial (more or less) - and is still easy to read. Pretty nice looking addition to Patek's sport watch collection.See my article on the Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph watch on AskMenwatches-dealer here.See Patek Philippe watches on eBay here.See Patek Philippe watches on Amazon here. Rare Lady's Seamaster 120
Rare is an overused term I know, but I have never seen another one of these and neither has my other half so indulge me xxx It is a Lady's Seamaster 120 from about 1966, this is the date version (566.007) with a gorgeous little calibre 681 automatic movement. When I can persuade the other half to open it up I will take a photo. It is in fabulous condition and I feel so lucky. It is about 30mm in diameter, so don't be fooled into thinking it is bigger by my tiny wrist
Omega Seamaster 300GMT or a used Panerai?
Hey Fellas,I've been eye-ing the 300GMT for quite some time now and have been putting some money away on the side for one. I was planning on making the purchase through watchuseek's forum AD which saves me considerably. Now, I just began looking at the Panerais and have been very intrigued. They are rather large at 44mm and is borderline on my wrist, but they still look very cool and are quite a bit different from the watches I have now. I have a Rolex Sub Date and a Tag Monaco ala Mcqueen in blue with croc band. Lately, I've been smitten with the band...So, a brand new 300GMT or spend quite a bit more on a pre-owned Panerai?
I asked + You answered = INCOMING!!!
First of all, I have never thought I would be able to own a Patek. I am just a Queens boy.. humble beginnings.. and man.. only if my old man could live to see this. He would be like: Get out of here... really??. Better yet, I wish I had the chance to buy him one FIRST! Still, better late than never. My watch journey has been filled with 5K-10K type pieces from Rolex to Panerai so stepping up to Patek, I had to take a deep breath and say yes, let's do it! After I sold off my AP diver(which was beautifully crafted but a touch top heavy for my smaller wrist), I knew I was ready to rip it up and go for it. 5167 was immediately in mind since the pricing was more palatable and also fits the rubber sporty theme found in the diver. Then the forward looking part of me immediately took over and said if we are looking to spend $20K, why not consider other options within the same ball park? With advice from many here, I immediately narrowed the options down to 5167, 5164 and 5711(and thus,
Owners of White Dial Nautilus (5711/1A-011)
Read in another forum from another owner that the lume for the white dial is different from those from the blue dial. Apparently, the lume does not charge with regular sunlight or general light and will only charge under a halogen light bulb or light box. This is rather weird, as the lume would be sort of useless.Wondering did existing owner experience the same issues or it is just a one-off?Would love to see some normal charging lume shots of a white nautilus.
