Whirlwind Romance: 4 Watches with Multiple Tourbillons
Nowadays, almost any luxury watch brand worthy of the name offers at least one timepiece with a tourbillon. But there are only a handful of brands that have pushed the envelope to create watches with two, three or even four tourbillons. Here we take a look at four such watches that made their debut at this year’s Baselworld and SIHH watch fairs.Roger Dubuis is the only watch company to produce a watch with a movement that is both skeletonized and equipped with two flying tourbillons. The Excalibur Double Tourbillon Skeleton, introduced at the SIHH in January, features the brand’s imposing 45-mm-diameter Excalibur case, recently redesigned to be 12 percent thinner and more ergonomic. The case maintains the distinctive fluted bezel, prominent crown guard, and triple-lug strap attachment. The movement, in-house Caliber RD01SQ, has 319 parts and incorporates a differential system that averages the rates of the two tourbillons for greater timekeeping precision.Above and below: R

My Transitional Speedmaster 861--Lots of Pics!
Hey all.Just wanted to post some pics of the Transitional 861 I picked up. Before the pictures, I want to give a big thank you to 007Sub and pdoukas. Both TRF members gave me a lot of information, and advice on this purchase. Thank you very much, Greg and Pete I bought this watch from the second owner. He bought it in 1972 from the original owner. The only work that has been done to the watch is having the original crystal, which had a crack, replaced in 1972; a servicing in 2010; and lastly, a new Omega 1171 bracelet two weeks prior to the sale. Otherwise, the watch is as close to original as it was in 1968.The second owner was a part time flyer, who only used the watch during flights. He will be sending me a list of the places the watch has been, which I will post here. Apparently this watch has seen a lot of very cold places across Northern Canada. The bezel has faded from black to grey--a ghost bezel--which apparently is not an undesirable effect The dial has taken on an eve

While I was looking at 5524g, ADs are v keen to buy my 5235g at slight premium over the current MSRP (10%+) as there are immediate buyer waiting who don't mind mint preown at premium.I find that interesting since I read 5235g is a dead duck similar to 5960/1a.I not selling mine. Just something I find interesting n to share. HAGWE ahead!.. jen
