Watch Winner Report: Frederique Constant Classics 315
Below you'll find a watch winner report from Caroline H., who was one of three lucky winners in the December 2012 watches-dealer Frederique Constant trip and watches giveaway. She was one of the second prize winners who received her own Frederique Constant watch of choice. Below you'll see her thoughts on her new Frederique Constant Classics 315 timepiece. Thanks to her and everyone else who participates in the monthly giveaways."Looking at FC's extensive collection and trying to choose one or two watches was extremely difficult! I wanted a woman's automatic, but I also wanted some complication or special display that I wasn't likely to acquire any other way (at least until I won another contest at watches-dealer). In short, I could hardly wait to see which of my four very different watch choices Frdrique Constant would select for me. When the box arrived there was a tantalizing amount of packaging froufrou to wade through.Once I got past the beautiful leather box I was delighted to

A Time Capsule - Omega Speedmaster - The Story of the First Watch in Outer Space
Well, my watch collecting began many many years ago, around 1994 when I bought my first 'nice' watch, a TT Sub with blue dial. I kept that as my only watch for several years until IWC's caught my eye. Got myself a Flieger 3706, a 3713 Doppelchronograph, and an Aquatimer 3536. Anyways, I spent a lot of time at AD's, just browsing, and collecting all manner of freebie brochures etc that they were only too willing to hand out. I then sold all those watches so that I could buy a house. Many many years later, in 2012 in fact, I re-started my watch collection again, and having acquired 5 lovely Rolex's, am now ready to explore some other brands. I have an AP RO on my wishlist, but also an Omega Moonwatch. I've always wanted one of them, either the 3570.50 manual wind Hesalite, or a 3572.50 or 3573.50 with a see thru case back.Anyways, as I was thinking about Moonwatches this afternoon, I suddenly remembered something an AD gave me for free many many years ago. As soon as I got home, I hunted
Sub Date caseback openned by hand
Has anyone experienced this before? Today I accidentally managed to open the caseback of my Sub Date by hand. Not sure how long it had not been tightly screwed down. I was frightened. Fortunately to my eye the movement looks still clean. The watch has been my daily beater since 2003, though recently other Rolexes get more wrist. Since it has never been serviced I now intend to bring it to the RSC.
