The H.R. Giger Take On Watches: He Loves Swatch Watches
Though stated in 1993, I doubt H.R. Giger has changed the way he feels about watches. "I will wear a Swatch, the real thing, from the cradle to the grave." Best know for his macabre and dark industrial, future goth design style, Giger is probably most widely known for his design of the alien, in the Alien movies series. The fiendish, eye-less, dark and brooding brutal alien species is but one of a legacy of designs and characters imagined by Giger. A favorite approach of his is to take common industrial design and endow his own take on them. Fortunately for us, he has done this with the simplest of watches, the Swatch.As part of an early 1990's art exhibit, Giger used his love of the simplicity of the Swatch watch, and took it to another level. Though never commercially available, these designs are a wonderful depiction of how to incorporate the watch into a great and dark design theme. Introducing: The World's First Fully Functional 3D Printed Watch: The Christoph Laimer Tourbillon
It was an unseasonably warm Saturday afternoon in Brooklyn, and I was walking my dog when my phone buzzed with a text message from a friend, containing only a link to something on Thingiverse (a 3D printing file-sharing site). I opened the link and my jaw dropped; I was looking at a 3D printed tourbillon watch running by itself, built by Christoph Laimer, a Swiss engineer. This is an actual watch, with a tourbillon, that is almost entirely 3D printed. Think about it: the tourbillon – a 200+ year old invention designed by one of the greatest watchmakers to ever live, which for most of its history has been practically synonymous with hand-craftsmanship and high end watchmaking, has been produced in a working watch with a 3D printer.  You can wind it, set the time, and carry it with you. Sure, it's a bit large (a pocket watch, not a wristwatch, and they'd need to be good sized pockets to boot) not very accurate, and only runs for about 30 minutes

Finally got one
To those that followed the old thread:The story came to a happy ending...After effectively being told I couldn't have my long awaited 15202st by my AD,? with? whom I was next on list to be recipient...? (due to AP pulling supply and going boutique only with the model)My heart and hopes both sank.... A few months later however...AP UK called me.... The new RRP was in force (post brexit UK adjusted 15% price increase, bringing us inline with Europe etc).?? Which stung a little, as I had originally fixed a price with a down payment, rather than paid a deposit on Landing price...However, the reality is, that's the price now!? And so i got one... Am I now happy??? YES....Very...I REALLY do think its perfect in so many ways.... I love it.I got some goodies too: A very handsome royal oak tapisserie style pen and travel case

ROC vs. ROO
I've been thinking about trading in my RO on the new ROO Navy for quite some time now. I like the color combo and the bold styling of the offshore. However, over the past couple weeks I've been drawn to the ROC. It has that classic design with the added aesthetics of the sub dials and pushers. Plus, the ROC doesn't sit way off the wrist like the ROO does. My wrist can easily handle the 42mm of the ROO but I'm wondering if I will get tired of how tall it sits? I feel like it will be fine because I wear a G-Shock daily and it sits just as tall if not taller.Also, I think I prefer the black vs. white face on the ROC but I'm not quite sure? I love the white/silver face of my RO but from the pictures I've seen, black looks better on the ROC.I do have to throw in that I am an Auburn Tigers fan - another reason why I love the new Navy so much!Lets see those votes!

So after seeing SteelerFan65's beautiful chocolatey goodness 53 year old Speedy (His beauty can be seen here:.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=293173), I really wanted one. So with the help of Krlyuzh I was able to acquire my own chocolatey goodness! I have had it for a couple of weeks, but finally got around to posting the pics. Hope you enjoy as much as I have wearing this beauty. Right now keeping it on the bracelet, but am looking for a nice brown leather band.Now I just to have wait for 53 years before I can get that vintage look! A couple of wrist shots.
