The Story Behind Wryst Watches
Sponsored PostIn 2012, watch designer Jacques Fournier started his own watch brand named Wryst, after years of creating some of the most innovative modern watch designs under his company Horology Design, for brands aimed both at the mainstream as well as the ultra-high-end market. Born and educated in Switzerland, Fournier later moved to France and eventually to the UK, where he currently lives.Wryst was born out of Jacques' passion to create his idea of the ultimate lifestyle sports watch with a design that had never before been attempted. Wryst timepieces are mostly priced at under $1,000, but retain a sense of refined European design with a contemporary attitude intended for those watch lovers who share his aesthetic vision. He explains the story of Wryst watches from conception to concept below. Why do you design watches and how did you get into doing so?Jacques Fournier: At a young age, I was spending a lot of time looking at luxury timepieces in watch boutiques in Geneva or anywhe
We Have An Incoming! AP T-3
I feel like this has been a long time coming..These days, AP has really changed their approach. The company is not producing as many limited editions as they used to. I can only assume that cut back was done so when a limited does come out, it will be very special and not another over saturated limited. The materials AP is using now are cutting edge and for good reason to. Rubber is being replaced with ceramic, The classic machined tapisserie dials are starting to be stamped in more and more pieces instead of the classic machined technique. But it's that classic machining technique that gives the dials those textures and depth. I'm sure AP will always revert back to classic techniques, but on the more main stream pieces like offshore models, things are definitely changing. Going forward into the future, AP is taking a direction to make sure things become more and more efficient, that's for sure. But there is something about the older pieces that really make me feel warm and fuzzy insi
New Navy ROO - easy colour to use?
Hi,I am brand new to the AP brand, tried some on yesterday and wow, I fell in love!!I love the rose gold Royal oak with leather strap, but I think a better starting point would be a Royal Oak Offshore - lower entry price and better daily watch for my lifestyle. I love the rubber strap on a premium watch, very cool.So I am now considering a few models, the new navy dial + navy strap 26470 - which I have found for ?14k for a brand new one.The others are the 26170 Navy and the 26170 Panda - both costing about ?10k for a used one.So I have a couple of questions.(1) Does anyone have any experience of using this new navy ROO? I tried it on yesterday and it looked amazing, but I had a blue t-shirt and jeans on, so naturally it matched perfectly! I just wonder when using other colour clothes if the blue ends up clashing or if it still looks just as good? How easy is it to use basically I want to know, as I intend to use it as my daily watch and put my YG GMT-IIC to rest for special occasions.(
back to Omega... Ti Speedy
I had some Omegas before. Last Omega I had was PO 8500 that I traded a year ago.. Here I am.. back to Omega. I chose Ti Speedy this time because steel speedy didn't last too long for me.. a bit too heavy with metal bracelet.. I love the subtle blue dial... and balanced weight around my wrist. Leather strap feels pretty high end.. 9300 movement is spot on when I wear it. only a second off for a few days when you put it in winder. Definitely one of the most accurate movements that I've owned. I am glad I did.
