Watch Insider: Herms Unveils its First Tourbillon Watch
Up until very recently, Herms was known more as a fashion brand than as a purveyor of haute horlogerie. However, its watchmaking subsidiary, La Montre Herms, has been challenging those assumptions as of late with many of its new watches and proprietary movements, and has now released its first tourbillon watch, called the Arceau Lift.In this article from my blog, Watch-Insider, I give you the details on this significant new timepiece and show you some photos I took at the watch’s unveiling at the Herms boutique in Paris.Herms is not a newcomer to watchmaking; one can find Herms-branded timepieces dating back as far as the 1930s. But today’s La Montre Herms, based in Switzerland, is taking its business more seriously than ever and is not interested in mass-producing watches just for the sake of multiplying the brand’s famous “H” logo. (Click here for WatchTime’s Q&A with La Montre Herms CEO Luc Perramond.)Recently, La Montre Herms bought a
SIHH: Girard-Perregaux 1966 Tourbillon With Gold Bridge
At SIHH, Girard-Perregaux’s Haute Horlogerie collection will be enhanced by the addition of a model inspired by its history and its complication: the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Tourbillon with Gold Bridge. Expressing the essence of Girard-Perregaux watchmaking tradition, it will be available in an edition of 50 individually-numbered pieces. In the mid-19th century, Constant Girard-Perregaux created a timepiece that was awarded a first-class prize by the Neuchatel Observatory. Its tourbillon movement featured three parallel bridges, under which the barrel, center wheel and tourbillon were aligned. In this innovative concept, the tourbillon served not only as a technical and funcational component, but as a design element as well. In 1889, the watchmaker received the ultimate accolade: Girard-Perregaux won a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition for his Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges. The new 1966 Tourbillon With Gold Bridge evokes its illustrious predecessors and pays tribute t
Fortis Andora Emotion Limited Art Edition Watch
Holy crap, what is this thing? I realize this is one of Fortis' edgy "Art Edition" watches, but wow. This is unexpected for even the art version of the serious tool watch brand's products. Limited to just 100 pieces and in a 42mm wide titanium case, this watch isn't just an (questionably bastardized) artist's rendering of a Fortis chronograph watch, but also tries to tell you how to enjoy and spend your time. How does it do that? Will look at the "suggestions" (in German) on the bezel. Set into four quadrants, with three words in each, you should have a new task each time you look at the time. Though you might disagree with the Andora watch's suggestions, and probably rightly so.The dial of the watch is where things get the most strange. Andora's drawings make up the chronograph subdials and the sub seconds dial as well. Who or what these little freaky characters are is beyond my understanding. There is more German in light text revolving the dial (see the translation of it in the tech

Need help in the reference for the parts to convert the Royal Oak 15400 to fit a strap.Since the Lionel Messi Chronograph comes in steel, I am guessing the parts will fit just nicely on the 15400?Anyone can point me to the right direction?I have checked out the APbands conversion kit and did some reading on them... did not seem to be all positive. Thanks in advance.
