Marvin M104 Watch Review
This will be my first of several reviews on watches from the Marvin watch brand. In addition to sharing with you these interesting and attractive timepieces, I have an ulterior motive. You see, Marvin watches are not currently sold in the US. There is really no good reason for this, and I am trying to determine whether or not these watches would be in demand here in the States. I for one think that they would have a lot of appeal given their styling, construction quality, and fair prices. So, what do you think? Please comment and share your thoughts. This Marvin M104 model watch is among my favorites in the brand's current lineup. The design smoothly transitions between modern and classic styling in such a satisfying manner. Better yet, the watch has a high grade Swiss ETA 2897 automatic movement in it. This is like the 2892, but has a power reserve indicator as well - and 42 hours of power reserve. No specific statement can be made to sum up the design of the watch. Like I said it has
Hands-On: With The Calibre De Cartier Diver, Now In Black ADLC
At the 2014 SIHH, Cartier shocked most of us watch geeks by showing a piece that no one would've expected-a dive watch. And not just any dive watch, but a really strong diver, which?was even ISO certified. This year, Cartier showed a modest update to the Calibre de Cartier Diver that gives it a whole new look?C?it's now available in black. 2 OF 4 The Calibre de Cartier Diver is a really well balanced watch, and with black rotating bezel off-setting the dial that mimics the Chronograph. What is so nice about this watch is the overall thinness and great wearability on the wrist-it is surprisingly thin and refined. 3 OF 4 There are no technical differences with the new ADLC-coated diver, and while the look is certainly very similar to the original, the sleek black nature of the case adds a bit of stealth to this watch. The case back on this watch remains closed, just as it should be on a diver. 4 OF 4 The new Calibre de Cartier Diver ADLC comes wi
Decisions
Not being a jewellery fan I got my first ever watch at 37 datejust Rolex. I've since bought a preowned Seadweller and a new 41mm ROChrono. The former being a collector piece and the latter well just being to good to wear to work I am thinking of another watch and am in 2 minds about a Submariner or an GMT. I could of course demote the RO or the Seadweller and buy a millenary however I have been thrown a curveball. My wife wears a half gold date just with Mop and diamonds and does like the AP ladies Automatic RO. We have found a new but discontinued model in SS but from a holding onto its value standpoint what should I buy? Him or her, AP or Rolex?
Breilting Chronotimer
Man I could kick myself for not buying one of these when I was working for an AD. They had this one version that was a 24hr dial version, Man it was so cool. Anyone on here get one when they were available?
DJ41 Versatility
I'm looking for something that sits in between dressy and daily beater that I can wear outside of work and in less formal environments. So, DJ41 appears a great choice. So question is how versatile would a smooth bezel & jubilee bracelet DJ41 be? I've tried it but I honestly can't decide. Black / Rhodium would be my choice. I'm not talking beach / gym wear. Nore like jeans / shorts / shirt type scenarios.
